My favorite flatwounds.

By S. Myers

from Powdersville,SC

Comments about Ernie Ball 2804 Flat Wound Group II Electric Bass Strings:

I have been using these strings for about 5 years. I use these strings on both of my Fender P-basses and have just got a set for my Fender Jazz Bass. These strings are well made and very smooth to the touch. They have a well rounded even sound. They are a little brighter sounding than some of the other strings I have used (Fender,D'Addario Chromes) which I like. They have good sustain and keep there tone a long time.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2804 Flat Wound Group II Electric Bass Strings:

i bought these strings, just experienting with different brands and strings for my bass. i play metal stuff and im not really satisfied with the sound. These are good strings its just not the sound i want but i think it would work for blues and jazz players. Their really smooth, so if you got sensitive fingers then these would probaly be good for you.

not an ordinary flat

Comments about Ernie Ball 2804 Flat Wound Group II Electric Bass Strings:

Very nice strings. These are bright and fun to play on. Compared to the rotosound sh-77 set these are brighter and sound better. The rotosounds were just a tad easier to slide on. I like in medium gauge I don't this heavy is needed no more now.

Nice set of flats

By Trip

Comments about Ernie Ball 2804 Flat Wound Group II Electric Bass Strings:

For flats these are pretty bright sounding - kinda got a bit of a roundwound zing to them. They don't really have that URB dead thumpy sound, if that's what you want try the GHS', rather, they sound sorta flat/sorta roundwound. Easy on the fingers nice to slide around on. Brings some new flavor to the fretless. Also, nice tension on the strings went brought to tune, if that's a consideration.

Get These Strings

Comments about Ernie Ball 2804 Flat Wound Group II Electric Bass Strings:

I love these strings. I play a fretted four string P-bass and they work great. If you've never played flat-wounds it's kinda like this. They're super smooth so you dont get that sliding sound and they dont tear up your fingers like regular round-wounds. The Tone_HeHe_ the tone is the best i've ever heard warm lows, screaming highs. Just an all around great sound.

Great Tone

By AmpegSVT

from Akron, OH

Comments about Ernie Ball 2804 Flat Wound Group II Electric Bass Strings:

This is the sound I've been looking for. I play in an AC/DC tribute band and these string are that sound. Have that thuddy, pillowy sound and not boomy or bright.
