Comments about Ernie Ball 2810 Flatwound 5-String Bass Strings Set:

Best strings ever. I have used these for years and made the mistake of trying a new brand (not flat wound) and that was terrible. These strings have a good full tone and not the buzzing, plinking, twangy sound of round wound strings. Try these string and I promise you will never go back.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2810 Flatwound 5-String Bass Strings Set:

I have these on three basses and it has vastly improved the sound on each of them. They are smooth and easy to play like they should be. I have had no problems with their length on a 34" scale, they actually have great tension for a 34" scale bass. On a 35, they may be short, but they are perfect on my 3 34's.

      Good strings for shorter scale

      By Uncle Dave-Rldta

Comments about Ernie Ball 2810 Flatwound 5-String Bass Strings Set:

These are nice strings, but be warned they are shorter scale and with most 5 string basses these just won't be long enough. I tried them on my G&L L-2500 and they were just a little to short. I'll use them on my shorter P-bass 4 string they will fit that and I'll only be out one string. If you don't need the extra length, these are priced good.

      Good strings, but...

Comments about Ernie Ball 2810 Flatwound 5-String Bass Strings Set:

Typical Ernie Ball quality... Good strings. My only complaint... If the low B string is flat wound I'm Jaco Pastorius. The package says ".130 flatwound", but it looks and sounds very roundwound!Hopefully Ernie Ball will remedy this in the future.

      another review update

Comments about Ernie Ball 2810 Flatwound 5-String Bass Strings Set:

Yes, got the new ones direct from EB. They bent over backwards to make it right. Used figure 8 method to wind the strings. Worked great. Sound great, are smooth and easy to play. Forget my first review, those defective strings were a fluke and I know that won't happen again.
