Ernie Ball Coated S.T.H.B. Slinky Electric Strings combine the latest technological advances in string manufacturing. All wound strings are treated with a micro-thin layer of enamel that prevents decay and corrosion up to five times more than uncoated sets. In addition to treating the wound strings, Ernie Ball has taken it a step further by reinforcing the plain strings with a patented winding of titanium wire.

Titanium's inherent strength prevents string breakage, string slippage, and is proven to keep your guitar strings in tune better than conventional plain strings. Ernie Ball Coated Slinky strings maintain the feel and sound of uncoated sets, combining the added protection with the vibrant tone Ernie Ball customers have relied on for over 50 years. Perfect for those who want to avoid string breakage.

They're GRRRREAAAT!

By Joyce Landgrebe

from illinois

Comments about Ernie Ball 3115 Coated Electric STHB Slinky Guitar Strings:

these are yummy in da tummy
I have had these for 2-3 months i cant remember but, they still look and feel new. i havent had any problems with these, in the past i used regular ernie ball slinkys or slinkies? idk how you would spell it, but i play hard and with the regular 10's i broke a string at least every two weeks. and i have had these for a while now and still they are perfect. and i experiment in different tunings often and they stay in tune great. i have a epiphone les paul plus top with seymour duncan model 59's and they sound AWESOME! but yeah, i would highly recommend these strings. they cost a little more but they are really worth it. And they will last a long time. well they did for me.

Good tone

By <Jaguar Player>

Comments about Ernie Ball 3115 Coated Electric STHB Slinky Guitar Strings:

I cannot stand having rusty strings, they cause horrible "string talk" when you slide and do not last long enough. These are the best i have used so far, Elixr makes a comperable set that last forever but they lack in tone. These keep a better tone and with a titanium end arrond the nut, you are able to play on the string and really get a pop instead of taking it easy on them with fear of breaking the strings on stage.

Intonation Problems

By TucuTucu

from Puerto Rico

Comments about Ernie Ball 3115 Coated Electric STHB Slinky Guitar Strings:

I've always used uncoated Ernie Ball strings so buying these strings sounded as an excellent idea. These string sound great and last twice longer than uncoated strings but I could never get the intonation right. At first I thought it was the guitar or the tuners or bridge in my American Strat, but I switched to coated Elixir strings (same gauge) and problem solved, I still do not understand why this happens but they don't work for me.

Haven't broken one yet...

By wjohn1428

from Dayton, Ohio

Comments about Ernie Ball 3115 Coated Electric STHB Slinky Guitar Strings:

I picked up a set of these because I've been breaking strings a lot lately. I play an aggressive style and usually have string breakage unless I use .13s or higher. These are .10s, and I've gone a couple of weeks so far without breakage or losing undue tone. Well worth it to me.

Used on a Les Paul Classic

Comments about Ernie Ball 3115 Coated Electric STHB Slinky Guitar Strings:

Great Tone, they just sustain endlessly, and take a lot longer to get dingy and break. Good quality for the price.

Great strings

By TNT2007

from San Diego, CA

Comments about Ernie Ball 3115 Coated Electric STHB Slinky Guitar Strings:

Read about these new EB strings in various magazines and decided to purchase them and try them out. They are great, I've tried other coated strings before but didnt like the way they felt or there tone was too dark, these baby's on the other hand have that same great EB Slinky feel and bright tone and tune up and streach easier then the non coated Slinkeys. Great tone, feel, and great longevity.
