REALLY LIKE THESE STRINGS !!!

Now that these have "settled in" I like them even more.

You gotta try different picks with these strings.
They respond to pick changes more than any other strings I have tried.

Did the Elixir thing for a while and got tired of the "shed" of the poly's.
Then went to Nano's and I do like them too.
D'Addarios and DR Sunbeams are good too.

Hopefully these will live up to the billing in longevity.

Very "open" sound under the pick.
Good finger picking, not great.

Overall I believe I have found THE string set !!!

Very Happy with these and will DEFINITELY buy more for my Blueridge BR 60.

I really like the way the strings feel and the crisp projection that they provide. However, I've gone through several packs of these strings because the G strings are unreliable. I never break strings. I generally stick with Ernie Ball for electric and Elixir for acoustic, but thought I would give these a try. These would be perfect, were it not for the weak G strings. I don't know why, but they just don't hold up to my normal playing. Like I said, I never break strings, so this is a new experience for me. I can usually get a handful of shows out of guitar strings. However, I'm lucky if I can even play a few hours without breaking a G string. It's frustrating. I should add that the other guitarist I play with has had the same experience. He's given up on these strings because the G strings just don't hold up.

Comments about Ernie Ball Aluminum Bronze Medium Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I tried these in spite of the hype and was surprised by how good they sounded. They actually do give my instruments a more hi fi sound. They make my rswd/sitka dread and an rswd/addy slope shldr shine. I play 3 different situations regularly. A bluegrass/Celtic/swing thing, and Americana thing, and my solo act. I have to flatpick, fingerpick (with a thumbpick), use alt tunings, and play slide. These strings bring out the best in every style. My only caveat is they DO break right at the bridge frequently. Please ERNIE BALL, reinforce this area!!!

Comments about Ernie Ball Aluminum Bronze Medium Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

Bought three sets of these strings. As an exclusive Ernie Ball player on both acoustic and electric, I thought I would give these a try considering the claims made about bring less prone to corrosion. That said, I had a gig yesterday and put them on the day before. I let them settle in and during the gig the G, D and A all snapped in the same place. Just after the twist that attaches to the ball end. The G went first, and I quickly swapped it out with a spare Ernie Ball Earthwood I had in my case. Continued playing then the D went...same thing swapped it out for another spare. Then the A. The jury is still out for me. It may just be a bad pack, as even the most expensive brands have that from time to time.

Comments about Ernie Ball Aluminum Bronze Medium Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I run my guitars using either Matrix Infinity or LR Baggs pickups through pedal board/PA combo. These strings last me two 3 hr. gigs and share a similar tone to Phosphor bronze strings but, HOTTER. Breedlove recommends D'addario EXP16 which feel great and last long but my Stage Auditorium's Rosewood back and sides/Sitka Spruce top combo still sounded a bit muted and scooped. These strings are exactly what Breedlove should ship with. They brought out upper mid complexity to single notes and lots of chime & bloom for strumming. Harmonics pop yet, I can still hear a strong fundamental tone with a uniquely distinctive voice!

Comments about Ernie Ball Aluminum Bronze Medium Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

bought two sets of these to try , installed them on two guitars. Within 10 minutes of playing time the G string on the first guitar gave way just past the twist on the ball end . set that aside to be restrung and played the other guitar for a few minutes till the tuning settled in thinking I was good to go. The next night at band practice about 15 or 20 minutes in the G string on that guitar let go in the same spot right by the twist . this is a new alloy and a new product for Ernie Ball, a company I have trusted for a very long time (I have used super slinkeys on all my electrics for about 35 years ) All that to say I am REALLY DISSAPOINTED .

Comments about Ernie Ball Aluminum Bronze Medium Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

You really should give these a try. Out of the box they may sound a little foreign and not as bright as a new set of 80-20 or even some PB's but after about an hour of playing,.. WOW !
I think the bad reviews were from folks who judged them too quickly.
They have their own "string voice" and if you own a guitar that is by nature weak in the mids, these will make the mids pop especially if you own a Martin or any guitar where the mids are scooped.
More sustain than any other string I've tried and really nice overtones.
                These are my strings now.

Comments about Ernie Ball Aluminum Bronze Medium Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

Like these strings a lot. I have a Martin HD28 that can be kind of dark. I also sweat quite a bit and tend to deaden and corrode strings pretty quickly. These strings really brightened up the guitar in a good way and improved the projection dramatically compared to Martin or D'ad strings. They brightened it without making it harsh, actually improved the overtones as well and the best non-coated strings I've found for handling my alien sweat. Never write reviews, but these are good if you're looking for a little more oomph, sparkle and clarity out of your acoustic.
