As some others have noted, these picks do wear more rapidly than other brands. But they are less than $.20 a piece, so who really cares? The key issue is performance. After trying every pick manufactured by man, I have been using the EB heavies for about six months now. To my ear, they produce the best tone (especially on my acoustic) and they are really, really easy to hang onto. They basically stick to your fingers. For my playing, the heavies work great for both strumming and picking. For a great all around pick that sticks to your fingers, try the EBs.

I played with Ernie Ball picks for a few months before I found out what I was missing. A friend of mine from Arkansas sent me half a dozen Dunlop Tortex Yellow picks and I was simply blown away. Ernie Ball picks are average...better than Clayton, better than Fender, better than ordinary no-name picks, but I find that they break to easily and they aren't the best on your guitar tone. Do yourself a favor and buy a dozen Dunlop Tortex.

I bought these to try out, as always ernie ball delivers. Good picks for strunning, picking, & harmonics. As usual very high quality from ernie ball-highly recommend-usr medium.

Comments about Ernie Ball Celluloid Mixed Color Guitar Pick - 2 Dozen:
Everyone has a different preference but I have been using these picks for years and won't use anything else. I like the smooth feel and they are easier to keep hold of. I prefer the medium thickness over any others. Other brands that have a significantly rough texture seem to slip and I tend to drop them more often. Like any other pick, I lose them constantly and the fact that these are nicely priced makes that easily manageable. Awesome pick for all of my styles of playing.
Comments about Ernie Ball Celluloid Mixed Color Guitar Pick - 2 Dozen:
not the best picks, ill tell you that. im a bassist, and i use picks more than my fingers. my friend gave me a handful of these (about 15) about 6 months ago, and right now im down to one. personally i prefer orange tortexes because i dont like this material and they slip easily. but, these are worth it if you just need a pick at home, but i'd strongly reccomend to get something with more grip for gigs or touring.
Comments about Ernie Ball Celluloid Mixed Color Guitar Pick - 2 Dozen:
I've used many picks, but these are my favorite. Although they wear down quickly when you play a lot, a pack of two dozen picks have lasted me for almost two years and i wouldn't go back to what I was using before.
Comments about Ernie Ball Celluloid Mixed Color Guitar Pick - 2 Dozen:
These picks are bad. I use the Medium's and they flat out rock. If your looking for a good smooth strumming pick go with these mediums.
Comments about Ernie Ball Celluloid Mixed Color Guitar Pick - 2 Dozen:
not as good as dunlop tortex picks
Comments about Ernie Ball Celluloid Mixed Color Guitar Pick - 2 Dozen:
These are the best picks for the price Ive used these since Ive been playing bass, which is only three years, but these are still the best I've used with Fender Extra Heavys coming in second.
Comments about Ernie Ball Celluloid Mixed Color Guitar Pick - 2 Dozen:
These are okay picks, as features go, they're just celluloid guitar picks, nuff said. They tend to break down quickly but buying a heavier guage would stop this. After trying these, Fender moto picks, and dunlop Ultex picks, I prefer the ultex, it is very, very strong, but also expensive, so if you are just woodshedding in your bedroom, then these are the picks for you.
