The plate looks great but the fit is off.It is not flat on the body, and has a gap in between the screws.

Comments about Fender '70s 'F' Style Neck Plate:

For fun, I decided to put this on my Highway One P-Bass, which is 70s styled. The neck plate makes it look that much more like an authentic 70s Precision! Installation is quick and easy, although I recommend taking the strings off first. If you want to give your guitar or bass some vintage mojo, you can't go wrong with this.

Comments about Fender '70s 'F' Style Neck Plate:

I installed this neck plate on my Tele and instantly I noticed more sustain, better tone and a faster action. It improved my playing with some strange voodoo power I never had before. Girls started to notice me more and I got job offers in several Bands. Now I'm in talks with several Record Companies for a Recording Contract and Promotional Tour. It's been like magic.

No none of this true but wouldn't it be great if it were? I did install one on my Tele and it looks great, didn't do thing for my playing or attract girls, but I did join a new Band. I think Fender should install them at the factory, what do you think?

Comments about Fender '70s 'F' Style Neck Plate:

Since this is a neck plate, do not expect a ton of features. It does the exact same thing that the previous neck plate does. It is a direct replacement to the Mexican Fenders as well. I added this to my MIM Tele Standard and it was simple. I laid the guitar down with the back facing up on the table. Removed the screws but didn't remove the neck. Nothing to it. Adds class compared to the plain plate that was on it.

A touch of satisfying eye candy.

Comments about Fender '70s 'F' Style Neck Plate:

Well, it's not going to hot rod your guitar or dramatically increase the resale value, but that Fender "F" does look great on there, and I feel it adds something to the mojo of the guitar. Many of the things that cause us to prefer one guitar over the other are largely aesthetic anyway. Just a nice touch, for not too much money.
Personally, I feel the Fender '70s Style Neck Plate stepped up the visual appeal of my MIM Strats without any of the inherent dishonesty of adding the Corona, CA neck plate.
It is what it is, but no sharp edges or flaking chrome. Solidly built, and a perfect fit.
It's a great price for an authentic Fender part from a major, reputable dealer.

I've put these on a few of my Fender Strat's. Adds a nice touch to any Fender. I even put one my new Classic Vibe 50's Telecaster. It looks great!

What can I say? It's a neck plate.

Comments about Fender '70s 'F' Style Neck Plate:

The plate I got seems to be better than one previous reviewer got. Solid piece of metal with 4 screw holes and an "F" stamped on it. It looks original with the MIM J-bass I'm rebuilding.BTW, it isn't mentioned in the description, but it comes with 4 screws. I ordered screws separately and now I have a spare set. I'm sure I'll find a use for them.

                      think twice...

Comments about Fender '70s 'F' Style Neck Plate:

Bought to replace the neck plate on my Reissue Mustang Bass. This neck plate is extremely thin, even thinner than the Japanese part it would have replaced. Also, the screw holes are very poorly chamfered. The engraving is very shallow as well. Not worthy of my instrument. I would recommend using an American Standard fender neck plate instead...

                      Great thang

Comments about Fender '70s 'F' Style Neck Plate:

I own 6 strats, i replaced the old plain neckplates on all of them with these... i gotta say, its a small thing, but it adds a huge touch of class and prestige to your Fender. Plus, if your a Mod-Monkey like me, this is just one more little add-on that makes your strat different than your buddies.
