Comments about Fender Custom Shop Tool Kit by CruzTools:

This kit turned out to be a bit of a disappointment--particularly since it bears the name "Fender Custom Shop," which should stand for quality.

It's extremely helpful to have everything you need to do your own set ups in one small kit. However, this just doesn't fit the bill. First, the screwdriver is the cheapest screwdriver I've ever seen. The multiple screw heads barely come in and out, and it only a matter of time before the cheap handle breaks. Plus, it is simply too short. If you are trying to adjust the intonation on a Strat, this screwdriver is an invitation to accidentally scratching your finish.

The wire cutters, on the other hand, are first rate.

The capo is really, really cheap, but functional for its job.

The string winder is good. The Allen wrenches are fine.

The feeler gauges are fine, but are so coated with oil that you can barely hang on to them. Keep some paper towels handy. You're going to need them.

And finally, the ruler--while having the very handy adjustments specs on the back, is so small that unless you have perfect 20/20 vision--or have a magnifying glass handy, you'll never be able to read the .mm marks properly.

So, yes, it says it has everything you need, but I had to get a proper setup guide/ruler from StewMac, that I could actually read, and had to get a decent screwdriver from my own tool kit. Which pretty much defeats the purpose of having everything in one kit.

There is no chance--none whatsoever--that this shoddy kit is what the techs and luthiers in the Fender Custom Shop use. Not a chance.
