Fender Leather Deluxe Guitar Strap

Features:

Excellant quality and quite inexpensive for a leather product. I did have to make the holes larger to get it over the strap lugs. Very comfortable shoulder pad and I had to punch new length adjustment holes to fit, but not a problem if you have the leatherworking tools.

Narrow enough!

I ordered one of these when my odd-shaped guitar couldn't be fitted with a "normal" strap end.  The strap button is placed in a spot where I have only a quarter-inch of wiggle room.  Since the odd shape also prevents resting it on my lap, I need a strap any time I play it.  This vintage style Fender strap does the job perfectly.  The only problem is that I'm not only shorter than the guys that usually use them, but I like my instrument set high.  Like another of these reviewers, I had to punch holes and cut off the excess.  The design lends itself well to such savage manipulations.  I had to toss over 8 inches of premium leather into the trash, but it lookes like it came this way! I agree that the pad is REALLY hard and stiff, so that's the only thing Fender could have done differently. A cushion of lambs wool, or whatever they cushion things with these days, would have made it perfect.  Other than that, great job Fender!

Great for Acoustic

I'm using this on a Taylor DN3 and its not too long at all, for an acoustic. I keep it at a normal height, I'm also around 6'3, it sits at a comfortable position (not up to my chin, but not touching my knees either). The only con to this product is it's a little stiff at first and was hard to get it around the Taylor strap buttons, it's getting better as the leather breaks in though. I have this in the Natural colour. The pictures are pretty accurate of the colour, minus the main pic.

Fender strap

Its very rigid.  Not traditional. Too long.  Its one of those things you should def. try before you buy, or buy it and if you don't like it, give it to someone.  I've had mine for a year.  I took the pad off of it and just roll with the thin leather.  I like it that way.  It doesnt slide as much and I can feel my guitar... the pad makes it seem soooooo very light.  (I play a gibson es-339.. not a heavy guitar) I've had to drill some holes in it, cut off excess and what not, but I would much rather it be way too long, then not long enough.  I can cope with it.

It's a strap; gretsch's are good too

Fender is more rigid leather (less bounce) than the equiv. Gretsch, thoug the latter has a more "classy" (v Classic) buckle. I use Fender Lthr Spags predominantly though, as both require a drill bit to get to the length I want. I don't like bounce.
