Comments about G7th Newport Lightweight Capo:
This G7th capo is great improvement over other capo designs. It is so compact it doesn't stick out all over the guitar neck when you use it like those spring loaded clothes pin like capos.
When you're not using it, you can keep it in your shirt pocket and not have to worry about it pinching you on the nipple either!

Comments about G7th Newport Lightweight Capo:
This capo is shorter than appers on the photos, so it doesnt work on my classical guitar (i can only use it on the first 4 frets). I think it would be work great with electric guitars. Over all its a high quailty and beautiful piece.

Comments about G7th Newport Lightweight Capo:
Small enough to be ought of the way but you have to have it just right for string clarity. Only real complaint is no where to keep it. I put it under my fifth string on headstock but if you move to much it falls. Really a great concept.Lets see about longevity.
Comments about G7th Newport Lightweight Capo:
A very nice Shubb.
Works essentially like a Shubb. Like a Shubb it works very well. Also like a Shubb, and unlike the more expensive G7th "Performance" model, it can't be easily clipped to your headstock between songs, and does not have that no prior adjustment required and perfect string pressure that you can easily achieve with the "Performance" model. The Shubb is a great capo and the Newport refines it a little, but the Performance model is cut above.
Very well made.
Expensive.
Comments about G7th Newport Lightweight Capo:
This one truly makes using the capo a no hassle experience while looking good as well. Try the factory web site for a video demonstration. I am not dissapointed.
Lives up to all advertising claims. This one is extremely unobtrusive. all others tried got in the way of the left hand or had hard edges to deal with.
I have not seen a capo with this level of quality and design before. Castings, machine work, metals and rubber are top notch.
Price is high but I don't think equal quality or design is available for less. If I loose this one I'll get another.
Comments about G7th Newport Lightweight Capo:
I don't normally get too excited about a small chunk of metal and rubber, particularly when it appears to be way overpriced - but I recently had to replace an 8-year old Kaiser capo when the spring broke. After looking at a bazillion choices online and not liking the looks of any, I ran across a link to an ad for the new G7th Newport and was intrigued. Couldn't find any reviews on it, but decided to take the plunge and buy it. And I love it! The pressure is adjustable via the screw knob, but you don't have to screw and unscrew it every time -- the short-throw lever snaps it on and off very quickly. Once you have the tension adjusted, it never needs to be readjusted, unless you're moving a long way up or down the neck, and then just a couple of twists and you're good to go. The best part is that if you put it on from underneath the neck, instead of the top (as shown in their video ad), it becomes very easy to do with one hand after a couple of times. Cup it in the palm of your hand, flip the lever with your thumb, and viola; no more fiddling with both hands trying to get the capo in just the right spot, at just the right pressure. Doing it that way also puts the rounded part of the capo down where your hand would come in contact with it, so it's much more comfortable when playing some of the more contorted chord fingerings. Nice change from always rubbing up against the pointy corners on the Kaiser. Did I mention that I love it? Just wish it came in black...
It's the perfect combination of the best features of a Shubb (which snaps on, but I always thought is very awkward looking, and takes two hands to get it set right) and the little screw-on one from Planet Waves (elegant, but fiddly to adjust every time, and also takes two hands). With this one, if I need to move it between songs, as is often the case, I can do it fairly unobtrusively.
Nicely put together; great fit and finish; that elusive simple-yet-elegant standard.
As I mentioned, seems a little pricey for the amount of material you get, but in this case, I gotta give em some credit for the engineering and design that went into it. I assume before too long we'll start seeing some cheap knock-offs, but for now I'm willing to reward the innovation to come up with the best thing since... the capo.
