I guess it's asking too much for a soft case to last more than a year or two. The handle on this case broke off within six months of steady use, so I replaced it with one from a hardware store. Since then, the case has worked well. The wheels have held up, unlike other cases I've used, and it fits my Yamaha S80 with room to spare. My problem now is that the outer lining containing the zipper is tearing off, as is the mesh pocket on the outside. It's not going to last much longer. Overall, it's not a bad case, and you'll get a few good years out of it, depending on how much you play. From now on, it's hard-shell cases for me.

    Zippers are a problem.

This case is a few inches longer than my old one, which was an issue, packing it into the already cramped space I have the travel in, but I managed.

This case is a few inches longer than my old one, which was an issue, packing it into the already cramped space I have the travel in, but I managed.

I have used the new case on two gigs now, but this of course means 8 times my keyboard has been in and out of the case and my car. The zippers are an issue.

They are metal, and seem sturdier than my previous case, but they tend to "hang" coming around the corners, and on one end especially, it is difficult to pull the last 8-10 inches closed.

It does not really seem that there is TOO much packed into the case (wrong size for the keyboard) but I AM considering removing the interior tie down straps, as they aren't really needed, and this would make more room.

When you are tired, and in a relative hurry to pack up and get out before Atlanta traffic gets TOO bad, the last thing you want to do is fight with a recalcitrant zipper.

Otherwise the case is perfectly suited for my keyboard.

Comments about Gator GK-88 88-Key Lightweight Keyboard Case on Wheels:

This is now my ONLY keyboard case. My oversize Yamaha PG-625 Portable Grand (requiring a 6" depth) fits perfectly in this case. The side pocket holds all the accessories. The wheels (and comfortable handle) have given me the freedom to transport it to and from gigs without assistance. The salesman was knowledgeable, and helped me make the correct choice.

Comments about Gator GK-88 88-Key Lightweight Keyboard Case on Wheels:

It looks great, and I know my keyboard is safe. It is however heavy, and awkward to load around. Perfect world I would have a smaller keyboard than my Rd300. We'll see how long these wheels last.

Fits a Yamaha DGX 640 portable grand nicely. While this is a home studio keyboard performances on the road happen. This case will provide safe environment for transport.

Comments about Gator GK-88 88-Key Lightweight Keyboard Case on Wheels:

I bought this case for my Roland RD700, I have had it for about 2 1/2 years and it has completely fallen apart. The wheels are frozen, the handle has ripped, and the zipper is broken. Clearly this case is to lightweight to support a keyboard that is comparable in weight with an RD700.

Good features but too much case

          By Jean Monroe

          from Boston area

Comments about Gator GK-88 88-Key Lightweight Keyboard Case on Wheels:

BUT after 2 gigs, I'm thinking of selling it! It's too much case for my Yamaha P140. There are quite a few unused inches at top and side. It's heavy. It won't fit into my Toyota Yaris (non-hatchback). I can lift the keyboard by myself, when it's not in the case: when it's in the case, I have to enlist help. When wheeling it I have to make wider turns than a tractor-trailer. It's a chore to get it thru doors or into the closet at home, I feel like I'm wrestling a softsided coffin. It was supposed to increase the portability of the keyboard, not decrease it. I think I shoulda gotten a GK-88 SLIM.
GK-88 keyboard case: Well thought out features: stiff back without needing to make the whole thing a hard case; great padded keyboard straps; good wheels. Wish they had included: a slightly larger front pocket so it fit my keyboard's music rack; a stiff top handle integral with the back; attachment points on the front of the case so you can easily bungee other things to it, like the keyboard stand.

          Good enough

          By Nate-t4LIM

          from Buffalo, NY

Comments about Gator GK-88 88-Key Lightweight Keyboard Case on Wheels:

I bought this case for my RD-700sx. It fits perfectly in length and height, but there is room to spare in depth. The case is good for light use. I would definately not pile anything heavy on top. I would also use the end handle causiously. It does not seem like it will last. I would rather have a woven fabric handle on each end than the faux leather handle connected with tiny rivets. Handle with care.
