Comments about Gator GL-LPS Lightweight Guitar Case:
It does its job. the carrying handle is uncomfortable as are the straps. Without guitar in it to weigh it down, it rolls onto the lid. The case does offer better protection than a gig bag but for a liitle more $ you can get a hard-case.
Comments about Gator GL-LPS Lightweight Guitar Case:
Good Case, I'm very pleased. I'll be happier when the 2nd one arrives.
Basically a gigbag with a molded foam inside that protects the guitar. Extertal pockets are deep and big enough for cables etc. Its really light, and the straps are comfy. Only reason for the 9 instead of 10 is that the zipper makes me a little nervous. Too early to tell. I ordered 2, one for my Les Paul 60s Tribute and one for my LP Special. They both fit...only I'm still waiting on the 2nd case as it was backordered.
Seems to be well made. The zipper seems a little flimsy, but time will tell.
It was a great value. Way better for a bad back than a Gibson hardshell. And....way better than the crappy Gibson gigbags I had.
Comments about Gator GL-LPS Lightweight Guitar Case:
Musician Friend was kind enough to pay for the return shipment. Gator customer service, call them twice, a guy on the phone promised to look into it and call back. Never happened. Overall, very disappointed with Gator.
First of all, the measurements Gator provided here are wrong! It may (or may not) to fit your Les Paul, but all other brands with LP shape may not fit. The body length stated here is 21', which was supposed to fit my Gretsch Duo Jet nicely, turn out to be barely 18'. It was slightly narrower too. Someone in previous reviews with the same guitar as me said the case " fits like a glove". It was 4 years ago, so I assume Gator changed it without caring to notify customers.
Looks like a decent quality case.
No value for me at all- can't use it.
Comments about Gator GL-LPS Lightweight Guitar Case:
This is a really good strong lightweight case when you dont want to lug a heavy case to practice or even a gig, the polyfoam is strong, zippers wok well, the handle should be reinforced feels not as tough as the rest of the case and the plastic hooks that hold the straps on the back should be metal ... for the price its a pretty good case, im using it for my japan Burny les paul it works well.
Comments about Gator GL-LPS Lightweight Guitar Case:
I've been transporting my Epi LP in this light case for 2 years now, and the case is falling apart. I'm not even that rough on it, I just haul it around once or twice a week, and have never dropped it or anything like that. The zippers don't functions properly, they get stuck. I managed to break one of them with my sissy little fingers! The nylon "web" bag on the face is a nice touch, but it broke. The holders on the back always come off, I had to tape them to keep them in place. The workmanship of the interior is terrible, as if though it was made by a slave. The padding is passable, but The joints between the interior and exterior are very thin and weak.Overall....there's a great idea behind the case, but the quality is embarassing, it's a joke. The guitar is actually stronger than the case! I advice you to use hardshell cases instead of these - even if you don't use the case much. It's worth the extra bucks.
Comments about Gator GL-LPS Lightweight Guitar Case:
I have had this case for a year now and it's been great. I had bought it for taking my guitar to lessons and not wanting it to get dinged up. The case is indestructable.. I have dropped it on accident before, and the guitar doesn't move and the case isn't scuffed. I've brought it to friends houses, to lessons, etc. constantly, and there is no sign of wear & tear.
Comments about Gator GL-LPS Lightweight Guitar Case:
This is a good quality case, excellent price and fits my Gretsch Jet Firebird w/Bigsby like a glove. A GLOVE! If you've ever tried to find a case for a Jet that would protect the guitar and that you wouldn't mind getting nicked up a bit you know how hard it is to find as the body is a bit larger than a LP. The top and back even kinda arched with chamfers down to the sides allowing the case to take more pressure before jacking up your axe. Lots of heavy foam but case is really light.
