I have the 4 space case and I use it to house a Crown power amp and a limiter. For my needs the case works very well. It is light weight and has a lock feature which can be useful. At the time of my purchase, the Gator case was less expensive compared to the SKB cases. That was my deciding factor and I have been happy with my purchase. However, this case may not be for everyone. This Gator case is made of thinner material than the SKB. During one show we set a Mackie 808s powered mixer on top of my case and now the case has a bow from the weight of the mixer. This has not effected its use, but makes me a little leary about setting anything else on top of it. Another thing that I am not too thrilled about is the way the front and back doors attach to the case. The hinges for the doors are located on the bottom of the case causing you to have to lift the case to remove them. This could be get tedious if your equipment is very heavy. Also, the hinges have scraped a small amount of paint off my amp.Over all I am happy with my purchase and this case meets my needs. But, for any future purchases, I will look for something a little more durable.

This unit is not road-worthy. If you have a couple of road cases and you treat all of them nicely, then this is a good case for you. If you have lots of gear, and all gear gets treated equally, then this case WILL FAIL. Poor design: Non-recessed, riveted ?turn-and-cinch? locks, loose-fitting front and back covers, non-rigid plastic construction. Even the rack rails (threaded screw holes) are not integrated into the case! The only thing I like about the case is the luggage-style wheels and handle. My problems with the Gator case: The top or side of box can be easily penetrated by the sharp corner of another case. The ?turn-and-cinch? keys will break off since they are design to be ON THE BOTTOM of the unit! Since they are not recessed, they have no protection. For serious road applications, avoid this item.

Comments about Gator GR Deluxe Rack Case:
Lock could be on the 'UP" side of the box, would be more funtionable
Comments about Gator GR Deluxe Rack Case:
I've had a Gator 6 space rack for about 2 years now, and just this past weekend the handles broke and it can't be repaired. The plastic ripped off the side and the handle came flying out. The biggest gripe I have about these cases is with the hooks or clips at the bottom. Never fails when I'm trying to close the thing those clips never seemed to want to cooperate and it is difficult to close up. I have used SKB cases in the past and think quality-wise they make a better product.
Comments about Gator GR Deluxe Rack Case:
Great case, works great and priced great.
Comments about Gator GR Deluxe Rack Case:
this case is hardly 'deluxe'. It is entirely mediocre, it provides almost no protection from falls, bumps, etc. The handles make carring it a PAIN, we have a 6 and 8 space rack and just replaced them with one rolling 12 space one...not a good buy.
Comments about Gator GR Deluxe Rack Case:
I own 2 8 space racks. In one I have my Crown power amp, a cassette deck, and 2 wireless mic receivers. I use the other for cords, a mixer, and a bag of mics. I've had the units for about 3 years. The pull out handle on one of the units recently broke off. I expect that Gator will replace it under their warranty guarantee.

Comments about Gator GR Deluxe Rack Case:
I've got a six space rack I keep my bass amplifier and power conditioner in. I also use the same rack to carry my homemade effects board in. To fix the problem of having to lift it to take off the doors, i just use it upside down. I have found that this way, the parts that stick out are on the bottom so it sits evenly on top of my cab. And, instead of having to lift it up to get it open, the doors just lift up and off.
Comments about Gator GR Deluxe Rack Case:
I got my first 12-space rack about 3 years ago, then got another the next year, and couldn't be more pleased with them, and will be ordering a 4-space soon.I beefed up the underside of the tops with 3/8" plywood. Both racks are on dollies with 4" casters, and by using 1 1/4" spacers, the doors go off and on real easy. For the bargain that these are, you can do a little improvising to suit your unique needs.I do mostly one-nighters, so these are getting moved almost every day, and nothing has worn out or broken yet. I will buy Gator again.

Comments about Gator GR Deluxe Rack Case:
I own two of these racks (an 8-space and a 12-space). They have done their job well over the course of two years and I getting ready to buy a third. I bent a latch beyond repair, called Gator, and had a replacement at no charge in less than a week.I don't care what kind of handle you put on a case, carrying a rack full of amps is going to be uncomfortable. That's why someone smarter than us musicians invented things like handtrucks and dollies. The stackability isn't all that great, so I use a couple of short ratchet-style cargo straps to hook the handles together when I have to stack the cases on-stage. Sitting something with a flat bottom on top of these cases is risky as the plastic is slick, but a couple of those rubber tool-drawer mats from the local auto parts or hardware store easily solves that problem. Bottom line: decent cases at a decent price. I trust them to hold $4K worth of gear week in and week out.
