I really liked this product. I have a Yairi Alvarez AY-20 and was having a hard time finding a case for it. A friend told me that they were the same size as a classical guitar, so I took a chance and bought one. It was a perfect fit, but without much room to spare. Nothing is jammed in, but it's nice and snug and the guitar doesn't move when I carry it.

The case is very sturdy, but as some have noted, the latches don't seem to line up perfectly. That's not a big issue to me, as I don't think I own a single case where all the latches line up perfectly. The latches appear to be of good quality, and the case is very stylish and durable. My only gripe is Tolex...I know it's durable, but I hate the way it gets white marks when you scuff it. I've already had to use a black magic marker to hide the worse scuffs. Overall, though, this is a great case for the money, and I'd wholeheartedly recommend it.

If you have a steel-string guitar that has similar dimensions to a classical guitar, this is the case for you. The dimensions listed in the specs section are accurate. It's the interior dimensions that are must useful, and I made the purchase based upon those numbers.

I think it's important to note that I feel this is a well made and good looking guitar case. Unfortunately the dimensions are confounded by the shape of the case and that's the source of my discontent... I bought a generic case from Musician's Friend for a guitar I made about a year ago. It was beautifully made and the guitar (OM size) fit perfectly. A few months ago I ordered a custom built OM sized guitar from the same luthier that Helped me build my earlier guitar. So I ordered the same case, but they were out of stock so I called in to get some advice and out of the several cases, this is the one that seemed to be the best choice considering size, look, and price. When I received the case it looked great, but the new guitar was a tight fit across the upper bout and so too was my "older" guitar... Both guitars fit the other case perfectly. I measured the inside dimensions of the Gator case and they were accurate so in theory it should have worked, but the problem is the slope of the upper bout is much steeper on the gator case and that is the impingement. I fully realize the type of this is for "classical" guitars, but so to is my original... So the upshot here is that while it seems to be a nice case, the dimensions are somewhat misleading in comparison to other guitar case types.

Comments about Gator GWE-CLASSIC Hardshell Classical Wood Guitar Case:

Cannot use it because it is the same size or smaller as the other one I purchased from Your company and your company assured me this one would be two inches larger all around. It was in fact smaller. You did not deliver what Your representative said he would. his name I believe was Brad or Brandon. Now I have two cases I cannot use.

Comments about Gator GWE-CLASSIC Hardshell Classical Wood Guitar Case:

I bought this case for my new Ibanez AEG10NII Nylon String Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar but unfortunately it didn't fit so I had to return it and buy the recommended Ibanez case. Honestly, I liked this case better. Next time I'll make sure to get the measurements of guitar & case before I order. Gator cases are excellent and I own quite a few. I prefer them to most other brands and they cost less!

Comments about Gator GWE-CLASSIC Hardshell Classical Wood Guitar Case:

This is the 3rd classical case from MF. The first 2 were too small for a standard classical. This is the first to fit, and the most poorly constructed. It's just about weightless. The lid banding feels like it's cardboard or flimsy plastic. The handle is very poor and probably won't last. I recommend picking the case up gently. There are only 3 latches. The ribbon between the case & lid is put in twisted. Not a cheap price either. It looks nice, and it fits, so I kept it.

Comments about Gator GWE-CLASSIC Hardshell Classical Wood Guitar Case:

I purchased this case because I needed a small hard-shell case for my Gibson B5 Natural which is considerably smaller than a standard dread knot guitar. This case fit perfectly and based on the reviews that said it was small I figured it would fit. DO NOT buy this case expecting it to fit a standard guitar - regardless if it is a classical or not - this will not fit my concert classical or any other guitar I own expect my Gibson B5 Natural.

I bought this case with the hopes that it would fit a deep body classical guitar that I am making for a client. It does and that makes me very happy! I am a big fan of the Musician's Friend Twill covered classical guitar case, now I am a fan of this Gator case and will buy more in the future.

I was very pleased that Musician's Friend was able to locate a hard shell case for my Framus Gaucho. There were not many Gaucho's made in the 1960's. The guitar had been in a flimsy case for at least 30 years. It is in very good condition, and will stay that way for many years to come. Thanks!
