Note: Long Scale is 34" for bass which is the standard scale.Short scale: 30" (kids basses)Medium scale: 32"Long scale: 34" (most common)Extra or Super Long Scale: 35" (many 5 & 6 string basses)Extended scale: 36-37" (boutique/custom build)Don't know your scale? I picked these up because I like GHS strings on my Guitar. The bass I was restringing has a scale length of 35". GHS labeled the outer package as "long scale". After opening them, they clarify long scale as 34" scale. Needless to say that meant another trip to the store. Rated at 2.5 just because I didn't get to use them. Other than that, I'm sure they are fine.

I enjoy playing on them.The sound is great,I love them on my Fender 5-string Jazz Bass.I love their sound through My Fender BXR300 bass amp. They compliment the combination of all three. Try them, You will be surprised.

These are not long scale at all. I'm sure the strings are fine, but that doesn't help how I can't play on them. When I was puttig them on, it was fine until I got to the E and B strings. Then the red ends (where it tapers down to help winding)started too early, making a buzz on the E string, and not playable on the B string. I'm extremely disappointed...

These strings are amazing. I loved the stock Di'Addarios on my Schecter Stiletto 6 but when it came time to replace them I went with Boomers. I know this is the 5-string product (MF doesn't have the 6-string set), but I had to write the review to rave about the low B. It was good before, but now it sounds almost as punchy as the E, which is incredible. I'll definitely play my B-string much more often now with it's new clarity. The strings as a whole are really bright and noisy unplugged but that translates to clarity and presence on your amp. These strings will make you stand out like crazy. 5 stars.

I just put on my new bass boomers about two months ago, and they sound great! They have a very nice crisp, clear, and punchy tone. The strings feel incredibly smooth and the tone softened up nicely since i first put them on. They sound and feel better than any other strings I've tried so far. Don't settle with D'Addarios or Ernie Balls, just try the GHS Boomers.

I've used Ernie Balls, Rotosounds, DR's (Lo's, Hi's, Marcus's, Coated), Fenders, flat wounds, roundwounds, pressurewounds, and tapewounds. Nothing is as good as these! VERY bassy, firm, punchy, enough treble to give you a good slam, and funky mids. They're just taut enough for pick playing, and just flexible enough for solid finger style. Not to mention the red winding looks great! I recommend.

I think that GHS string are terrible. I bought a pack for my 5 string. I am a player that likes to slap and after 5 days I popped the .45 string. They sounded decend until they snapped. Personally, I think that Ernie Balls are the way to go.
