Similar story to some here: couldn't settle on a gauge. 10s sounded/felt wimpy; 11s just a bit too stiff. I'd never heard of 10.5s, but I realized that's what I wanted and went looking, and there they were! These suckers are perfect for me.

GHS are my favorites. They have real power, ballsy tone. The Slinkies may be easier to bend and smoother on the fingers, but they sound dull and limp compared the GHS, and what tone they have dies off quick. I like string that fight back a little, I guess, and Boomers have better tone and sustain. Try 'em out in whatever gauge you like.

Maybe I would have liked this but it's missing the 3rd string. I am sure this website will send me a replacement but I am not buying any GHS because of their poor quality control. How could have they missed packing a string. #FAIL
I can't figure out the features as it is missing 1 string in the pack! fail!
Obviously poor quality as they packed only 5 strings when the label says 6.
This is very expensive as I can't even use it since it is missing the G string. Waste of money to get 5 strings and put on a 6 string electric guitar.

Comments about GHS Boomers GB10 1/2 Electric Guitar Strings:

GHS Boomers are strong and handle great bends. The life of these strings is better than a number of other similar string types. Also these are very smooth playing strings.

I needed an increase in size and tension up from 9 and regular 10 gauge string sets. Sets of 11's and 12's proved to be too much. But, GHS's 10+ gauge Boomers fit perfectly in-between those gauges. D'Addario's 10.5 set didn't feel or sound quite right to me.

My main axe now sounds like perfection: bright, crisp, and solid.

Comments about GHS Boomers GB10 1/2 Electric Guitar Strings:

Love the 10.5s they still feel & bend like 10s but with just a little more beef & chunk in the low end & more sustain in the high end & GHS' last longer than any other strings I've ever played, & I've tried them all in the 24yrs I've been playing. @ GHS(cause I had a hard time finding this set, no local music store had them & MF had them on back order, thank you MF) Don't ever stop making this set I Fn love em.

Comments about GHS Boomers GB10 1/2 Electric Guitar Strings:

Bill Kirchen pointed these out to me. I'd been using boomer 10s forever. 11s were just a bit to stiff but 10s lacked a bit of authority and twang. These strings fit nicely in the middle for me. I like to play classic country and classic rock bar band stuff on fender slabs and these strings suit me best of anything I've played to date. And i'll try anystring once.

Comments about GHS Boomers GB10 1/2 Electric Guitar Strings:

I've been playing on and off for 22 years and always thought one string was as good as the next. NOT ANY MORE! These are superior in every way to any other set of strings I've ever used. I have a Gibson SG that was missing the "fat tone" that usually comes from all Gibson guitars. After putting the Boomers on the tone was there and fatter than I expected. These strings seem to last longer as well. I'll never use another string on my stuff again. I'm sold on these!!

Love the gauge and feel but like another reviewer I was missing a string out of the pack. It's the second time it has happened me in about 20 years of playing so I'm still giving 4 out of 5. I'll chalk it up to a fluke of manufacturing.

I play in an acoustic duo. I switch between my Strat and my Epi Masterbilt acoustic depending on the song.I wanted something with just a bit more beef, because it has to fit in with my partner, who is playing an acoustic. These are perfect. Easy to bend, but don't sound to twangy like lighter gauges. I've found a new set for life. I've already been using Boomers for about 25 years, 9's, 9.5, 10, now Ive settled on 10.5 s.

Ice been playing for ~15 years and have tried all kinds of different strings, and I always seem to come back to my boomers. They sound and feel great, and they stand up the best to my sweat and oil to sound newer longer.

My main guitar is a 1966 Fender Jaguar. 10's always felt to light and died quickly and 11's were to tight. I finally found these GHS strings and wow what a difference. the perfect tension on my Jag! Now watch they stop making them.

Back in the late 90s i discoverd this guage set and put them on my PRS as 11s sonded great but were a bit to stiff and 10's were just to dinky in some positions. this set was the best string combo on that axe I ever used. I sold it and stoped playing for 10+ years but when I got back to playing, these went on my Carvin CT324M, I do replace the 13.5 with a 13 on this though.
