I used to believe that strings were strings regardless of manufacturer. I've tried D'Addario, Ernie Ball, DR, Rotosound, Elixer and Dunlop before trying GHS Boomers. These are the first strings I've used that you can actually hear an audible difference in tone. They sound slightly brighter and have a tad more tension than any other strings that I've used in over a decade of playing. These babies tuned to D on my Ibanez S5470 are pure magic! Notes are more percussive and shredding up and down the neck has never sounded so good.

I have over 40 years guitar experience primarily on acoustic and on these I have been using Elixir Nanoweb strings. However the Elixirs do not sound right for me on electric and hence I have been on a quest to find the right strings for my home built baby, an ash Tele with beautiful action.
I tried Fender and these were rather nice but switched to Ernie Balls in my quest for a coated string. Bad idea! DAddarios were not quiet there as were Cleartone. I was about to give in and go to the Fenders again when my son presented me with this set of GHS strings as a birthday present. (The guy is a full time student with a part time job and the fact that he actually used some of his hard earned money to buy me a present instead of buying beer for himself was touching,)
Best present ever! These strings snap and sparkle. I have bought a couple of additional sets and these are destined for the Strat and the Mike Kelly.
Best elecric strings ever!
As far as sound on a tele goes, these are the best I have tried
Great price.

Great strings with great sound and long lasting and easy to tune. Only strings I will ever use on my Fender Strat.

Comments about GHS GBCL Boomers Custom Light Electric Guitar Strings:
These are my favorite strings. Been using them for over 20 years. I've tried other materials and brands, but others just don't compare to the great durability and tone that I get with these. This particular gauge makes my guitar more versatile, as the low strings are thicker (like a set of 10's) and the high strings are thinner (like a set of 9's). Great balance for rhythm and lead.Currently trying out the 9 1/2's and later will try the 10's, but I would have no problem at all going back to these comfortable old friends.
Comments about GHS GBCL Boomers Custom Light Electric Guitar Strings:
After over 20 years live playing experience I've tried every brand of strings known to Western Science, and I ALWAYS come back to GHS Boomers. I prefer this gauge of strings for my style of playing, but regular lights work for me almost as well. They sound great, they're well made, and they're durable. They're also fairly inexpensive, so for me it's a no-brainer. GHS Boomers for life here!
Comments about GHS GBCL Boomers Custom Light Electric Guitar Strings:
I've used these strings for the past 5 years. I used to use D'Addario 009-042's. I found that when I go to stretch them I always end up breaking the high E string. I went back to the GHS CL's because I they last a long time. For those who are having trouble bending your 009, this is what I did. First, I use these on a Fender Telecaster for I play a lot of country. I originally set up this guitar for 10's, but when I saw the GBCL's I said "perfect tele strings".
Comments about GHS GBCL Boomers Custom Light Electric Guitar Strings:
I bought this particular set of strings figuring that since the bottom strings were heavier than conventional light sets, I'd get a fuller tone on the lows. I was not disappointed there, but for a .009 gauge string, my high-E is extremely hard to bend! Sure, the strings are very durable, but the extra strength required to bend the E string two steps is something I've never experienced in a light-gauge string. The strings sound fine and they last, but I'll have to look for a light set that feels like one.
Comments about GHS GBCL Boomers Custom Light Electric Guitar Strings:
I have been playing on these babies for 2 years (not the same set obviously) and before these I used the extra lights (9-42's) I have never ever broken a string live or even in practice. Aside from being super reliable they are very bright and just changing the strings can bring the bright harmonics alive again!
