Ever since I got GHS Guitar Boomers with my Les Paul, I never switched strings. I got more addicted to these things than the other strings I used. These strings have that powerful performance that last over 2 months. I also loved that wicked tone they bring with and even without an amp. They can be used for any genre, like rock, metal, country, punk, blues etc. You should also notice the leisure with the tone, lasting, and performance that these things can shove in your face!

GHS boomers were some of the first strings I ever used. However, I have tried many types to find the strings that are best for me, and in my opinion GHS doesn't compare to companies like Ernie Ball, Dean Markley, and D'addario in terms of sound. The feel of these strings are average. There's nothing bad, but nothing really special about them either. They bend alright. I would recommend any of the strings I mentioned above over GHS boomers.

This are just a great string company . Never any problems. GHS has been manufacturing strings for over 40+ years. They are one of the best on the martket, if not the best and I have been using then for 20 years. Many new custom sets to fit anyone needs. I use the .009s mostly on my Les Pauls, great bends and great sustain.

Been using GHS strings for most of the time i have been playing guitar. Yea, i've tried all the other top name brands but i always come back to GHS 9-42's. They sound the best and last the longest and most importantly, feel the best!! Try a set, you won't be disapointed and you might just discover "Your" new strings.

Been using GHS GBXL Boomers for years. I switched to these many years ago after taking in a guitar to the store I purchased it from to have the action professionally set up. After getting my guitar back and playing it at home for awhile, I went back to the store to ask what strings the tech had installed because I really liked them. GHS Boomers .009-.042. In trying out two other gauges of GHS Boomers since, I find Boomers to be the best value for the money. My personal preference in gauge is .009-.042. Provided I wipe my GBXL's down with a bandana after each session, they retain flexibility and quality of tone for a good long time. As a comparison with at least one other brand, . While the initial tone and ring was superb, they didn't last anywhere near as long as GHS Boomers.

Ive been an active musician for some years and always see guitar idols with Ernie ball or DR so other brands, so ill admit in my earlier years playing ive tried a bunch of different brands/gauges of strings but quickly go back to the GHS Extra Lights. They sound amazing (clean or with distortion) and last forever, although i always buy my strings in bulk but with some GHS Fast-Fret they should last months easily!

                  The Only String I Use

After 30 years of abusing guitars, only one string makes my Les Paul Standard scream - Boomers. I have owned many guitars and used many brands of strings, but the only thing I string my guitars with now is GHS Boomers. I cannot say enough about the sound I get. We all know that fresh strings stay in tune, and these do. No string lasts forever, so keep this is mind and know when a string has had enough. Boomers rock my musical world!

I have been playing the guitar for some 40 years and I have used so many types of strings. The only ones that I have the best luck is the ghs 09's. AS soon as I put them on and tune them that is all I have to tune even with a floyd rose. I have tried them all and I can truthfuly say that these are in my opionion the best. It's all in what you perfer for sound and quility and duribilty keep rockin.

Comments about GHS GBXL Boomers Extra Light Electric Guitar Strings:

I tried these out on my Ibanez S470, almost. The G string cracked at the bridge and left a tiny piece of metal in there, so I had to pop the bridge apart to unjam it. Getting that one strung, I moved on until the high e' snapped at the tuning peg. I immediately threw on some DR Hi-Beams .009-.042 to replace these.
