I like GHS products, I use Super Steels (awesome edgy bright sound) and Ive been using Boomers for years now, and these strings sound almost just like Boomers. If you want the Flea sound go for it, theyre pretty great for RHCP playing styles (BUT SO ARE REGULAR BOOMERS)
if the name means that much to you, you will be happy with them
These strings sound REALLY good, but just buy regular Boomers if you want the sound. They move/bend well and work well with you unlike EB Slinky's. These strings pack a SOLID punch and give you a deep edge.
These strings are probably a bit more expensive than what they need to be, just because they say Flea Signature on them but if you want them for that reason go ahead and buy them

Usually buying "signature series" anything turns out to be a waste of cash. So is the case with GHS Flea's boomers. I love the tone and sound of Flea's bass on their records and, though I detest GHS Bass Boomers already, thought I'd give them a try. Afterall it's been years since I've had Boomers on my bass. Initially the sound is pretty good, VERY bright and punchy and in fact may be a little TOO bright for some. However, the strings quickly lose their sound after only a few hours or days of practice and very quickly become some of the worst sounding strings I've ever played. This is why I hate GHS strings. Unlike Flea, who probably gets these strings for free, I can't afford to shell out $20 every three days for these. That's why I stick to Ernie Ball Slinky's. I can use those for a few weeks, even a month sometimes before they get dull enough to where I want to change them. Stay Away from Flea's Signature Boomers!

Comments about GHS M3045F Flea Signature Bass Boomers Medium Electric Bass Strings:
I´ve neve been really a fan of GHS but i´m always open to try different strings that can help you get your tone and last for a while they look great and feel and sound good but they wear out quickly i definitely like bright and twangy but that wont last that long, i have to adjust the height and action of my bass even when the string were the same gauge as previous one from different brand and adjust the truss rod as well as this strings aplies to much tension on the fretboard if specifically like this strings all the adjustments are worth your time.

When it comes to strings, I guess everyone has different taste, but when everyone says these are too bright or don't last, I just don't know what they're talking about. They have a very full sound on the high AND the low end. When I play a sustained note on the low E string, it shakes all the walls in the house. I like that they are stiffer than most nickel strings, so when you drop tune, they don't get all floppy and clicky. My only complaint is the red silk winding. I play a Music Man stealth black bass, so the red doesn't go so well. GHS needs to think about going to black or grey winding, or put out several colors to give the buyer a choice. Other than that, these are great long lasting strings; great for slap or regular finger style. I can't say how they work with a pick, as I am a REAL bass player, and don't use a pick!

Buy them, and you'll enjoy them, especially if you like Flea and RHCP.
I tried these on a whim and i was pleasantly surprised by how it woke up my bass. These strings are definitely made for that classic rhcp groove/slap tone. They're somewhat bright and not very suited for jazz, but what did you expect?
They've been on my bass for quite some time now, but the tone hasn't faded yet (at least not enough to bother me) so i'll probably keep them on until they break. They also look fairly clean. This is commendable because my bass sees a lot of the great outdoors and i have pretty sweaty hands.
For the money, they're worth it.

I've never been a huge fan of GHS and this sums it up for me. I don't know what spurned me on to try these, but I did. I'm actually surprised in that the tension is really high and they don't feel all that good to get your funk on. They also sound mushy to me. They're not well defined for me. I think these might sound better on a Music Man or G&L, but overall, a string should sound good on whatever instrument you put them onto. At least, that the way I feel about my RotoSound Swing Bass set. Yes, these are Nickel and my Roto's are Stainless, but I do like Nickels as well. I can't judge on features, they're just strings. It's a well built string, but that won't matter if it doesn't deliver the vibe I want. For the money, not really worth it.
Comments about GHS M3045F Flea Signature Bass Boomers Medium Electric Bass Strings:
I bought an old Fender Jazz Bass off Ebay. It was in pretty sad shape. I took it all apart, cleaned and polished everything and put on a set of my favorite light gauge strings. The bass buzzed all over the fret board. I kept tweaking the set up and nothing worked. Finally I put a set of these strings on and it changed the instrument. The only time I get buzzing is when I screw it up. I would suggest these strings to any one who plays with a pick or has a heavy handed style that would give you a buzz. Buy the way, they sound great too.

I bought a set of these just trying to try something new out after years of ernie ball. Wonderful. The have such a great strong tension and will agree that they are easy on the fingers. Flea has always been a big inspiration and now I guess I'm rockin his strings now :) Just ordered another set as a back up but have a feeling it will be a while before I use them.... good stuff GHS!

Broke the G string the day I got 'em. Flea no way uses these. I'll stick to standard Boomers.

I needed a new set of strings for a custom '62 jazz bass for a musical I was doing and tried these on a whim. I'm not normally a GHS fan at all, but was quite surprised with these. They had a great tone, without being too punchy or bright. For a straight-ahead rock musical, these strings are my go-to now.

I was planning on placing these on an american 62 jazz bass to see if I could get it brighter.. the long scale set is slightly too short.. you can possibly tighten them up and the nylon thread "might" make it outside the nut but I didnt try. on the positive side, since flea I famous for stingray bass, (or was) and I have a 76 stingray, I ended up giving that a try and they fit just fine.. they also sound KILLER. the fact that the older musicman's are pure tone machines, these strings brought the best out of mine. I plan on opening up a set in a local store and placing it against a bass before I consider buying them for any longer scale bass.PS. try the DR bootzilla's while your at it. pricey but last forever and make you pbass pfunky
