I started using these when they were the Santana Signature strings. I used 10's on all of my electrics, they were great on the Fenders but felt too loose on my Gibsons. So I switched to the half guages. Great tone sustain and adds the right amount of tension to my Gibsons.

Not for the faint of heart. I played Ernie Ball regular slinkies for years on my American Strat and they are a great string, but on a whim I tried out some Nickle Rockers and wow! I had to turn back the volume on my amp to compensate for the bright, rich sound! I swore I'd never go back to regular strings, then I found that Musician's friend does not carry the nickle rockers in 10's, so I had to try these out. Way more bright and aggressive than even the regular nickle rockers! I had to make some tension adjustments to my strat's tremelo to accomidate the 10.5 gauge, but it is worth it, and It doesn't feel like I'm playing a larger string.
I play a lot of blues based rock and for that SRV sound, this is it. Bottom line.
