Comments about GHS Phosphor Bronze Mandolin Strings Ultra Light:

Have been using these on my Godin A8 electric Mandolin and Samick Custom Acoustic Mandolin for about 15 years now. They are light strings and are great for hammer ons and pull off techniques which is part of my playing style. Tremelo and other techniques work fine. They project well and are the best Mandolin strings for my purposes. I have played a lot of Mandolin over the years. Concert work, Church and Religeous music and live work.

Comments about GHS Phosphor Bronze Mandolin Strings Ultra Light:

I have many vintage instruments that require a little extra care. The ultra lights don't put so much tension and stress on the old necks. They sound great and are easy on the finger tips also.

Comments about GHS Phosphor Bronze Mandolin Strings Ultra Light:

I bought these strings because I have a tendinitis in my left elbow and have problems with pressing down on regular strings. These strings are way easier to play but the E string vibrates weirdly.

Comments about GHS Phosphor Bronze Mandolin Strings Ultra Light:

Nothing fancy, but they work and the mandolin sounds great.
I had to get ultra lights because I've had a lot of pain playing with regular gauge strings. These seem to have solved that problem.

Comments about GHS Phosphor Bronze Mandolin Strings Ultra Light:

I have used these strings on my vintage Strad-O-Lin mando before, and since it has a bit of a bow to the neck these lighter gauge do just fine. Stay in tune, too. I've recorded with it and have received very positive comments, as well as people who see the mandolin up close and marvel at it's tone. Being one of the early 50's plywood-topped instruments without a bass bar, the top would be prone to sinking if I used anything heavier, so in my case these are the perfect strings. If you seek a gauge that won't hurt your fingers on a higher-action instrument these are your best bet. Good, bright tone and they last a while.

I restore vintage instruments and use the high quality GHS ultra light mandolin strings because I can always depend on them not to stress the old necks. They sound great and can take vigorous play.
