I finally have decent foot room for my double bass pedal duties. Getting rid of that tripod leg set on my old snare stand made a remarkable difference. I already had the side bars on my Gibraltar rack so it was simple to attach this for me and the attachment rod was very much long enough. I actually mounted the side arm from the lower bridge back leg, vertically). It will not reach in most configurations without the side bar on your bridge. I also added some cymbal arms and now have a very compact footprint (big help at certain venues) but still have all my gear right where I prefer them to be and very stable.

The Gibraltar Rack Factory No Leg Snare Drum Stand is a good product. It doesn't really allow for faster set up or easier transport of your snare stand because a normal snare stand is easy enough already. However, accompanied by the Gibraltar Rack, this stand saves a good amount of floor space and makes the drum set look sleeker. The reason I only give the stand a 5 out of 10 for overall performance is because the purchase price is only the beginning of what you will spend to make this stand work. Everyone says that even though the attachment bar is too short, it isn't that big a deal. Well it is a big deal. The 1" bar is preinstalled on the fastener and is not removeable; you have to lengthen it. Consider the cost of purchasing additional 1 1/2" bar and a SC-RBA clamp that you will need. PLUS - the multi-clamp that comes with the stand will work fine on the 1" bar included with the stand, but when you add the 1 1/2" bar to lengthen it, the supplied multiclamp doesn't work! So now add the additional cost of another clamp that can accomodate the wider bar. It really adds up. And if you think about it, this added expense and inconvenience is the result of Gibraltar skimping on such a minor part. Come on Gibraltar, add another 6" to the bar! Hopefully people will eventually trash this product review because Gibraltar finally included a sufficient length of bar - until then, be aware of significant added expense.

Comments about Gibraltar Rack Factory No Leg Snare Drum Stand:

I needed a snare stand that would incorporate my DW flat based stands and allow room for my double bass pedal. This Gibraltar stand does just that. If your thinking on clamping it to one of your cymbal stands, you will need another clamp because the one that comes with it is for a rack. I suggest the Tama universal clamp sku-449036. this works really well.

Comments about Gibraltar Rack Factory No Leg Snare Drum Stand:

Once the stand is finally set up it is great. However, other reviewers are correct when stating that the mounting arm is too short. If the bar was another 8" long it would likely be fine. But Gibraltar opted to save themselves a couple of bucks for shorter tube - and it costs you a lot of $$ to correct it. You have to buy a more expensive clamp to accomodate the 1 1/2" tube (that you have to add), plus the tube and connector. By the time you are done, it adds over $50 to the set up!

Comments about Gibraltar Rack Factory No Leg Snare Drum Stand:

This is a great stand for quick setup & exact placement everytime. The connecting rod is too short for some applications, but simply add a 1.5" rack tube with a SC-RBA Rack Tube Boom Attachment on the end, clamped to the horizontal leg, and you can slide that rod right inside and cut the tube to an exact length

Comments about Gibraltar Rack Factory No Leg Snare Drum Stand:

It is very easy to add to your rack. The bar to mount it is a little bit short but it was not a problem for me. It is great. You can can put your double pedals anywhere you like because there are no stands in the way. very nice try it you will like it.

    Just get a snare stand

Comments about Gibraltar Rack Factory No Leg Snare Drum Stand:

I bought this because I wanted to avoid a snare stand and run my snare on the rack it's self. Well, I never quite liked it. If you use this, it dictates your whole rack placement. The connecting rod to the rack is not long enough, and on top of that, you cannot easily reposition your snare. I ended up buying a PDP 800 series snare stand, and I'm happier with that than this, for sure.

Comments about Gibraltar Rack Factory No Leg Snare Drum Stand:

I have to agree with the others on this. This stand is great. Free's up space for the double kick, but yes the connecting bar is way to short.I just got mine a few days ago and I so have it set up but will have a different bar manufacured to fit. If you have the double kick ya gotta have this stand.

Comments about Gibraltar Rack Factory No Leg Snare Drum Stand:

Not having the traditional tripod base, I was skeptical. It's actually very sturdy when attached to the rack and has a lot of flexibility. My only issue is that the horizontal bar could have been longer.

Comments about Gibraltar Rack Factory No Leg Snare Drum Stand:

I own this and it's a really good idea the onlt thing is that the pipe that it comes with to attach to the rack is really short and i had to get an old cymbal stand and clamp that and the pipe it comes with together. But besides that it pretty cool to have your snare on a ball and socket gives you a lot of free play!
