This thing seems very sturdy. The rubber top of the bass drum clamp seems like it will keep it in place for a very long time, also. Another review says it was too low, but, for me, it is just right. I like to play low and close. If you like your drums high, it could be a problem, but I don't see how you would really wnat it that much higher, but that all varies from person to person. Overall, especially for the price, this seems to be a great bass drum cowbell mount. I definitely recommend it if you're on a budget, but it seems to be a great even if you have more to spend.

Mostly play timbales, but when I play traps I like a bell or two within arms reach. This does the trick, and handles my hefty mambo bell just fine. Seems a little light-weight, so not sure how it will last, or how it would handle a bigger bell, like a bongo bell. I also wish it had a little more of a backward offset to put the bell a little farther back, but that's no biggie. The bell clamp that came with it doesn't work with the only bell I have without one, but it works fine for the bells that have their own clamps.

A little hard to get it firmly mounted. If you really wale on your bells, not sure how well it would stay put.

Cheap, but works so far.

Does not work for my bass drum

Comments about Gibraltar SC-268R Standard Cowbell Mount:

Because I have a kick drum (bass drum) which goes to a Yamaha Hipgig drum kit, the lip of the kick drum is very shallow, so the mount is not stable, but my kick drum is unusual as the toms fit inside of it. If the lip of your kick drum is shallow - beware of this mount. I will probably go to a mount that mounts on my cymbal stand.

      a little short

Comments about Gibraltar SC-268R Standard Cowbell Mount:

When i bought this piece i was like wow a bell clamp a a really cheap price. i took it home, put it on my 22 by 16 inch bass drum and it was barely high enough to hit in between my snare drum and floor tom. so if you like to sit low and play low buy this. if you don't sit low like myself it is not worth the hassle.

      Gets the job done

      By The Honest Reviewer-qQF6m

      from Permafrost land, Canada

Comments about Gibraltar SC-268R Standard Cowbell Mount:

This cowbell holder is pretty decent. Feels sturdy enough. A few issues. First is the included attachment to mount the cowbell to the post. Even when tightened as much as it will go, the cowbell can still move around. Eventually, the cowbell falls to the bottom of the post. The rubber on the clamp has also come loose, but that was after months of use, so no real complaints there. Third is the quality of the wingnuts. While there is nothing really wrong with them, they just don't feel all that smooth. But with all that said, this cowbell mount did serve me well. It's basic and does a decent enough job, and the price is good. I guess I would recommend it, but I'd also recommend trying to find something else.

Comments about Gibraltar SC-268R Standard Cowbell Mount:

It makes no sense to make a cowbell holder with a mounting post too short. Also, all cowbell holders should come standard with the option of mounting it on a tom tom rim.
