Maintains original appearance and ease of adjustment for my Les Paul Studio. CAUTION: My originals were eaten by electronic contact cleaner running down the shafts and into the underside of knobs when cleaning noisy pots, and that's why I needed replacements. Remove knobs before spraying the wipers on your pots.

Blah blah blah
Says they fit snuggly. A little too snug, they cracked (3 out of the four) putting them on had to crazy glue one back together, eventually fell apart again.

Comments about Gibson Speed Knobs:
Upgraded to the amber speeds when I purchased an Epiphone Les Paul standard that had cracked skirted knobs. Love the look and frankly, they are easier to read and grip. Oh, and they look fantastic as well.

Comments about Gibson Speed Knobs:
put them on my melody maker reissue. huge difference in the ability to change volume and tone on the fly as compared to the stock black knobs.
very inexpensive way to dress up and improve use of the guitar
Comments about Gibson Speed Knobs:
Too many irons in the fire to try thiese out but feel confident they will work.
These say Gibson Pure on the package and look great.
Have not tried them on yet but they look like good quality.
Would like to see a lower price but then, you are paying for the name and getting all 4 knobs.
Comments about Gibson Speed Knobs:
I generally eschew style and frippery, but these knobs are really groovy! Picture clear acrylic knobs over a jet black knob. The white numbers and markers are at the bottom periphery, so you are looking through the knob to see the marks--its a little like staring into space.
My Gibson 12-string SG came with "high-hat" knobs like those on vintage Fender amps, with thin plastic skirts that stick out around the knob. They said "VOLUME" and "TONE" on the top--pretty cheesy. Their demise came with the malfunction of a strap--the guitar fell 3-feet onto thick carpeting and two of the original high-hat knobs broke.
Consequently, I replaced them with the speed knobs, which seem to be a little sturdier just because the plastic is thicker. For you DIYers, you should know that the knobs on Gibson guitars just pull on and off--it's a friction fit. I used a pair of nylon-jawed pliers and pulled vertically to get the high-hats off, but you could wrap take around a regular set of pliers. I don't recommend prying because you'll 1) potentially dig into the wood of the guitar, 2) potentially bend the shaft of the underlying pot. Gibson knobs need to be pulled off vertically.
Similarly, you need to push the new speed knobs on with vertical pressure from the top. The Gibson pots have a split rod of knurled metal. The good news is that the speed knobs fit perfectly on my SG, so no worries there. If your guitar is neither an SG or a Les Paul, or is different in some way that I don't know, you're on your own.
The down side of these knobs is that they are a friction fit and made of plastic. If you want all metal knobs that tighten with a metal set-screw, you'll have to go to another brand of guitar.
OK, they're knobs! A knob's function is to knob, and they do it. But they look great!
And the markings are easy to see from the side or from the top, or any angle, which is good design.
The casting is good, without bubbles or inclusions. They go on straight and stay on. For Gibson, this is as good as it gets. But it's not Fender-they have great knobs.
I could have made my own knobs out of caps filled with epoxy, or turned them out of exotic wood scraps, for free. How do you put a price on knobs? I don't think the price is unreasonable, but you have to think what will look best on your instrument, since that's what this product is all about.
Comments about Gibson Speed Knobs:
I put these on all my guitars that come with the cheap top hat knobs on them.
Great knobs.
Better than the cheap copys out there.
MF has the best price on these that I have found.
Comments about Gibson Speed Knobs:
Easy to install. Work perfectly.
They should be called "Slow Knobs" because in fact, what they do is reduce the amount of actual turning the control knobs do per movement of your finger. But that would probably not be a very sexy name. If you like to control your volume and tone (and have a tone bleed circuit), these are the best you can have. Your fingers get used to them immediately. They are also really good for those pots which are a little bit harder to turn because you get a bit more torque.
Seems they keep track of the QC. No blemishes or defects.
Sadly, the packaging seems to cost as much to produce as the actual knobs.
Comments about Gibson Speed Knobs:
These knobs are fine. I only gave them a 7 because it feels silly to act all excited about knobs. I bought a used black Jay Turser 220 that for some reason had gold top hat style knobs on it. The black Gibson knobs made it look much better. They went on easily, stay on, and spin like they are supposed to. They look really nice.
Comments about Gibson Speed Knobs:
These are great replacment knobs with the right look and the right features at the right price. They're not going to make you play any better or change the sound of your guitar, but they work fine and look great!
These are tight - fitting," and may require a little persuasion to get on. Made to fit USA - spec pots (1/4"" coarse shafts)"," they are likely to be loose on metric pots.
""Just another black speed knob"" with a small difference.
At first glance", these are just generic, black, speed knobs," as provided by myriad scources and used by most manufacturers. But these are 'different'. They seem to be ""just a little bit nicer"". As if the provider sorted their production and picked out the best of them to distribute to Gibson.
They fit tighter", the numbers are sharper, and the clear material is shinier than other, similar knobs I have.
As mentioned before, these seem to be the best of the best. It doesn't hurt a bit that they are also priced at 1/2 to 2/3 of what 'generic' - branded knobs often are.
