Comments about Graph Tech TUSQ A3 Picks:
These little things are indeed one of the most innovative guitar products I've seen or used in years. They sound and feel fantastic. I use them mainly for recording electric guitar and they've also become my main plectrum for bass. The A3 and A5 picks are what I mainly use, and they make my bass growl even more than the Dunlop Jazz Sharps. The A1's are a little more fragile and may be more apt to break into wih hard picking and strumming, yet they still sound good and would hold up ok with a gentle picking hand and light strum. They do round off and wear a bit, but
as long as they don't break into, they still are very useful. In fact, I still use the very first A5 that I got in my first 3 pack sampler from Graphtech. It still sounds and plays amazing.

Comments about Graph Tech TUSQ A3 Picks:
I like picks. I have at least 50 different varieties: shapes, materials, thicknesses.
These Tusq A3 .88s are in my top three or four. Great tone. Throaty, organic, they throw off harmonics like crazy.
These picks are what Tortex has always wanted to be.
I'm not seeing the fast wear that others mentioned. Fast, smooth release. The raised lettering/logo helps limit slippage, but doesn't catch the strings like some other brands.
Playing a Gibson 335, with the Wampler overdrive pedal set to open, Dumble-like tones... This pick brings the tone "one more notch", to a Clapton/Freddie King place I'd not yet found. Perfect.

Comments about Graph Tech TUSQ A3 Picks:
I was curious about this so called "Man made Ivory" material which is what these picks are made of. Tusq from Graphtech is actually not a new technology as they've been using it to make their aftermarket Nut and Saddles for a number of years now. However, they just came up with an idea to make guitar picks out of them. I got the A5 Heavy (1.0mm) in vintage white. First impressions? Great tone and dynamics! Excellent stiffness with very little flex which I prefer. Good feel. Sort of similar to the feel of the Dunlop Stiffo Jazz III picks ( black). Graphtech's claims of "Harmonically Rich Picks" are dead on. These are one of the best sounding picks I've ever played in my 30 years of playing guitar. BUT...after just less than a couple of hours of play time, I was so disappointed to find out that it had worn down quiet a bit! The playing edge/tip is showing significant beveling and rounding off. Along with one the best sounding pick I've ever played, it is also the fastest wearing pick I've ever played! It reminded me of a pencil lead wearing down so quickly as you write on paper. If I had been playing one of these picks on one of my shows during my gigging days, it would not last a gig and the playing edge of the pick would be rounded off in just a few songs. I'm serious! Try one yourself and see how it wears down right before your eyes. That's the only downside to this pick. I was disappointed. The Tusq material might be great for a Nut and/or Saddles but not that great for picks. Being more expensive that regular picks, you'll be spending your hard earned gigging pay for these picks rather than spending it on beer!

Comments about Graph Tech TUSQ A3 Picks:
I recently received a sample flatpick from the Graph Tech company, the A-3, 88mm teardrop shape, and I was quite amazed at how good these picks are. They produce great tone with very little pick noise, are easy to hold, are thin yet stiff and generally feel and work amazingly well. I have played guitar for over 40 years and I love this pick!!! Give them a try. At this point they are only offering the tear drop shape (my favorite) but the company website says that more are in the works. Thanks for a great product Graph Tech.
