I replaced the cheap plastic bridge pins with Tusq and the tone is definately better. There are two sizes so make sure you measure yours before ordering. Then it's just a straight switch to the new ones.

The pins were easy to install but could not tell a lot of difference. There are already tusq bridge and nut so I did not expect a lot. They are quality though. They do seat a little farther down in the bridge.

Won't make you a world class player, but does seem to enhance the sound of an acoustic . Seems much more stable and solid. A subtle improvement, but a nice upgrade for a pretty reasonable price.
"Man made" ivory. Ebony with white dots.
Very well made, fits most standard acoustics, except those rare models tha require the presentation style. Definitely better than plastic pins used by many manufacturers.
Not cheap, but certainly more reasonable than genuine ivory.

A little pricey, but they really do change the sound of your guitar. I got a nice increase in sustain on a Great Divide Songsmith A/E, and the black with paua dots look great.

As mentioned, every guitar I have used these on has benefited greatly. My top-of-the-line Tacoma JR55 sounded kind of dull with the ebony pins that came with it from the factory; with Tusq, it really sings.
I have put these Tusq bridge pins on every accoustic guitar I have(five in all), and every guitar came to life with these installed.
Use these in conjunction with a saddle upgrade to Tusq, bone, or west african ivory, and you will be amazed. I just finished a set-up job on a Yamaha FG700S guitar, and it changed from so-so to incredible after Tusq saddle, Tusq pins, and new strings. (the factory strings were still almost new.)
Where else will you get so much improvement in tone for so little?

I was looking for replacement pins and stumbled upon these. They're certainly denser than the standard or conventional plastic pins that most guitars have. Tone-wise, there's certainly an improvement yes, but I don't know if it's worth the extra bucks. I bought these with the bridge nut and I think that the bridge nut is substancially more effective than the pins (with a big plus in the $ department).

Recently replaced an old plastic saddle in a guitar with a Tusq synthetic ivory one. Noteable improvement. The package also recommended replacing the plastic bridge pins too. I got the new Tusq bridge pins and did a little experiment to see if they really do make a difference. Took an acoustic that has a pickup under the saddle and hooked up an electronic tuner. Measured the sustain time of the A string until there was no output detected. Recorded several readings with an overall average of 19.0 seconds. Replaced all the pins then did the same thing. The average sustain time increased to 24.4 seconds for an improvement of over 28%. They really do make a difference. Not a bad investment for the price.

I replaced the plastic pins on my inexpensive Rogue acoustic, my beater and camping guitar. I also replaced the saddle with a TUSQ blank. The saddle had a greater impact on the volume (much louder) and richness of this guitar than did the new pins. The TUSQ pins increased the richness slightly and evened out the string-to-string response. No real change in volume though. I would definitely recommend TUSQ pins.

Just picked up a set of these TUSQ Bridge Pins the improvement in loudness and sustain is very noticeable on my Seagull Entourage CW. I had upgraded the pins recently with brass pins that improvement the bass and mids but not the highs (in fact, lost some of the higher frequencies). But after switching to TUSQ, I got a well balanced increase in sound and sustain across all frequencies. Definitely an inexpensive way to improve your sound!
