Comments about Gretsch Guitars Electromatic G2162 Gig Bag:

The G2162 gig bag is adequately constructed and serves well for light-duty transport and guitar storage. The bag fits Gretschs snugly and has decent padding. A carrying handle and back straps are built in to the bag, which are nice features. The bag has two pockets, useful for storage of picks, cables, and smaller items. The price through Musician's Friend was very low, and so the bag is a great value. If you need everyday transport to gigs in harsh environments and solid protection against impacts, then a hard-shell case would be better, but that applies to the choice between any soft gig bag and hard-shell case. For moderate protection, light weight, and low cost, this is a great bag. Recommended.

            Great Gig Bag!

Comments about Gretsch Guitars Electromatic G2162 Gig Bag:

I just received my Gretsch G2162 gig bag, and I love it. It is well padded and fits my Gretsch G5122 perfectly. I'm just a hobbyist, so my guitar doesn't leave my house all that often. This gig bag is fine for taking your guitar to friends' houses, or vacations. I can see a touring musician would need something more substantial. This bag is great for the casual player. It has a nice silky padded lining, and lots of storage pockets for tuners, picks, strings, etc... It also has a cool little Leather oval with the "GreTsch" logo branded into it. It also has "backpack" straps on one side so you can carry it over your shoulder, or on your back. I highly recommend this gig bag. If you want more protection, get a hardshell case. If your like me, and only transport your guitar once in a while this case is fine. Order it with confidence. As a plus, it also fits several different Gretsch guitars. My G100 and Pro Jet fit in it nicely.

            Not Functional and Poorly Padded

            By Ocean-wUHDy

            from Harrisburg, PA

Comments about Gretsch Guitars Electromatic G2162 Gig Bag:

I just purchased the Gretsch G5120 in orange (what a GREAT guitar)and the person helping me with my order suggested this case as a good match for the G5120. Well, aside from the fact the G5120 should come with a case, I've never been so disappointed in case in my life. The non-existent padding is a joke. An even bigger joke is the design - this thing only opens part-way in the body section (does not zip all the way around the bottom of the body) so you have to slide the guitar down into the body section of the case first. With the Bigsby, this is even more difficult. This bag should NOT carry the name Electromatic with it as thought it is suggested for the G5120. You might ask what made me order a 'soft' case to begin with. First, the sales person telling me that it was meant to be paired with the G5120, and second my soft bag that CAME WITH my Dean Palomino (another arch top - hollow body for those not familiar with it)is unbelievable. It is soft on the outside but identical to any hard shell case on the inside. I would have paid $150 for that case and it was FREE. I ordered the SKB Deluxe Arch Top Hardshell for the G5120 to replace this pitiful Gretsch bag - I hope it fits...
