The only drawback to this case is that it is a bit pricey! Maybe without the Gretsch logo the case would sell for a third less?
This case provides all that is expected of a guitar case with regard to strength, size, weight and appearance.
The way the case fits a Gretsch for which it is designed is superb. The lining is well secured and the hasps and hinges match up for easy opening and closing.
The exterior finish is greatly enhanced by the brass fittings and name plaque.
Although not the fanciest, this case is more than adequate for the gigging musician. It does not project an image of shoddiness or lack of preparation, but of competence in caring for the instrument it holds.

This case is made by TKL, it is the same exact case besides the dimensions as the Epiphone les paul cases which are a good bit less in price . What makes this worth more money I don't know, but considering it's the only case easily found to fit a Gretsch pro jet your stuck paying more for it. I bought this case for an electromatic pro jet, the Chinese made guitar with a bigsby. Besides the higher price, the case is decent. The standard quality of cases in this and lower price range. It does it's job, protects the guitar ,and without too much abuse should last a good while. With so many gretsch models that have bigbsby's , it's a little tight when it comes to accommodating the bigbsby. Otherwise the guitar fits in the case fairly snug, just a little side to side wiggle room. The only other problem I found was the bout that supports the neck sat too high. It caused the neck of the guitar to sit higher than the storage compartment and made the case hard to close around the neck area. I've see similar complaints all day long on line with other reviews. This also would put undue pressure on the neck, causing it to bow. I ended up taking a piece of pvc pipe that was the approximate dimension of the neck cut out, and used it to compress the hard foam neck support to remedy the issue. Just open the door to the storage compartment lay the pipe in the neck support and put all your weight on it, this was just enough to put the neck support to the same level of the storage compartment. After the minor adjustments the case is fine.

The only case to fit Gretsch G2655

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G6238 Duo Jet and Pro Jet Guitar Case:

I bought the G2655 Streamliner with walnut finish and had the hardest time trying to find a case. After 3 days of research, I called Gretsch (Fender answered the phone) and the gentleman provided 2 options...The other case was way too wide as the "bout" is 13.5" rounded up to 14" on the lower side. Hence, I purchased this model. At first, I had a hard time with the latches and adjusting the guitar due to the Bigsby--one must turn the bar away from the bridge or the case will never close. The inside has plush, but I had to remove a few wooden splinters poking through the carpet. I was impressed with the exterior, the extra rear latch to lock down the case, and the firm shell to protect the guitar (obviously). However, I gave it a 4-star rating because this guitar was originally designed for the duo-jet series and it took me about 20 minutes to amass my learning curve. I read other reviews about angling the guitar to fit, but I didn't realize that I had to push the case into place while closing the latch. I have other guitar cases where you just put the guitar in and close the door--no brainer, right? I didn't return the item, and it seems to function well. I started exploring custom cases online and had a harder time, so I was left with no choice. In sum, it's a good case, but I wish Gretsch actually made a case specifically for my Streamliner model--especially since they featured this guitar at the NAMM show.

Exact Replacement

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G6238 Duo Jet and Pro Jet Guitar Case:

This is the exact replica of my Gretsch Duo Jet case that broke. It's from the same makers of the original case and is thus the exact replacement. You won't be disappointed with this purchase if you are looking for the perfect fit. Your only disappointment might be the price.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G6238 Duo Jet and Pro Jet Guitar Case:

This case is about standard for all guitar cases except the super expensive ones. It fits the Gretsch Pro Jet with a bigsby, but one has to turn the tremolo bar down for the top to close properly. It will not close with the bar in the normal position.Sometimes a latch is hard to operate if the guitar is not fully down. I can't fault this case, because nearly all cases do this.
The plush lining is nice and the case seems sturdy. It does have an extra latch, which is a plus. I would give it a "B+" in quality. It does hold the guitar securely.

Despite the recommendation this would fit - it ends up being about an inch too short. Ended up going with the Woody Allen case by Ephiphone for this guitar.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G6238 Duo Jet and Pro Jet Guitar Case:

I just got my second case, because the first one I thought was defective. But no, the second is the same. I cannot close the case even with a non bigsby jet. I called Gretsch, they said to press on the foam to loseen it up, so it closes. I don't know, to me it looks the guitar sits to high. See picture below, I have practically sit on the thing to close it. I will be calling to return it. BTW, my Jet fits nice in the Allen Woody bass case, but that is just an "OK", case, good, not great, that also will fit a Epi Wild Kat (without the motorcycle springs), a Gretsch jet bass, and a Dano DC 59. But not at the same time, because, as you can guess, I don't jam things when they don't fit.
