Comments about Hamilton KB300A Conductor's Stand:
Not at all the quality I expected from previous versions. Would have willingly paid more money for better quality. Will now have to use it very sparingly instead of consistently. No reflection of Musican's Friend; they were super as always.
Comments about Hamilton KB300A Conductor's Stand:
I rarely give perfect scores for anything. My weakness, I suppose. I would not hesitate to buy another, or to recommend this stand to any friend or collegue.
The Hamilton KB300A is still a quality product. I have one that is well over 10 years old that is sturdy as ever and I have had to move it from venue to venue. Bought a new one so I would no longer have to carry it around. I am pleased to announced that the new stand that arrived a couple of days ago is the same stand that I purchased 10 years ago. The stability is the same durable Hamilton quality and the materials are the same. The music rack was aluminum 10 years ago and is aluminum now. All other parts are steal (or at least something that attracts a magnet!). Love the stability, the wide rack and the ease of adjusting.
A+ in this category. This is a solid stand. The music I put on a stand causes normal stands with clutch mechanisms to gradually lower until I can't reach the music. Not with this stand - it holds it's ground.
Has to be one of the best values on the market. I looked around a lot and just couldn't find anything i felt was dollar for dollar equal to this Hamilton.
Comments about Hamilton KB300A Conductor's Stand:
I agree with the first reviewer of this product. A mere shadow of Hamilton's earlier conductor's stand. Same size, features, and design but the materials and workmanship are inferior to the conductor's stand that I had ordered from Hamilton just ten years ago. Unlike the previous reviewer, though, I think the problem is with the bracing under the stand. Since it is not steel, it does not have the stability to hold heavy materials like a full conductor's score. I would have gladly paid twice as much to get the old stand. Hope Hamilton gets the message.
Comments about Hamilton KB300A Conductor's Stand:
The Hamilton KB3000. I remember these big music stands from my high school days. These were once a heavy-duty stand. I received this Hamilton stand today, and I would describe it as a lightweight copy of the original. Placing just one of the Essential Elements teacher editions on it causes the desktop to "teeter-totter". (Even a Manhasset M48 wobbles less.) The desktop and tilt bracket are no longer steel, but aluminum. This manufacturer had the "corner" on the conductor stand market and consequently it is remarkable that they decided to switch to components that are more lightweight. Even with the hassle of shipping, I think I will send it back and try the Manhasset instead.
