I've been happy with these reusable, washable earplugs. They have a cord linking them, so they're less likely to get lost in your pocket or gigbag. I like how these earplugs gently reduce sound pressure evenly; they really don't mute the highs very much, so you can still hear yourself sing and play accurately. [I think they help my pitch a bit, as you can hear yourself "in your head" a bit more, kinda like how you see some singers putting a finger over one ear when they harmonize.] Unfortunately, the cord is a bit delicate and requires some care not to break it.
I played some pretty stupid-loud gigs and attended more than a few over-the-top-loud concerts in my youth, and I've found in my new band (25 years later) that I got some tinnitus (ringing) after rehearsals sometimes and always after gigs. It's been much less of a problem since I got my Hearos. Yeah, I get a bit of grief from the other guys when I wear them, but I hope to be playing out for awhile longer and I wanna hear my grandkids someday.
That ringing in your ears after shows is hearing damage, people, and it's not fixable. Do yourself a favor and get some earplugs, and Hearos block just enough to avoid egregious damage but still let you hear what's important. I recommend them.
Definitely NOT just foam plug, but a well-designed tool to attenuate the sound without just muffling it.
The cord that connects the earplugs is kinda flimsy for "road" use. Mine's been broken...twice. The knots I've made give it character, I guess.
Kinda expensive for the amount of materials used, but hey, the engineering isn't free. Many small, delicate objects cost a lot more than just their components.

Since using these with my band in rehearsals my preexisting tinnitus has increased significantly. The actual attenuation that these earplugs deliver is not stated clearly enough. Despite the obfuscation in the product review, the rating on the package is 12db. My experience has been that in using them in a >100db environment, the high frequencies passed by these earplugs pose a hazard. I suggest that no one use these ear plugs in situations above 100db, otherwise you are risking the development of tinnitus via high frequency hearing loss or the worsening of an already existing condition.

Comments about Hearos High Fidelity Ear Plugs:
Filters all frequencies fairly evenly, however these do seem to filter out more of highs than lows. However, MUCH better than cheap foam-ear plugs. Sound reduction is sufficient in my opinion.

Comments about Hearos High Fidelity Ear Plugs:
I am the lead guitarist for my band, and during practice I have to sit really close to the kit player. I have to say, if it wasn't for these ear plugs I probably would have gone at least partially deaf by now! Even in a full concert or gig these are great, I can still hear myself and everyone else play without it being too loud. The price on these are awesome, too! You won't be able to find better ear plugs for the price!
Comments about Hearos High Fidelity Ear Plugs:
Inexpensive, and they let you hear EVERYTHING. Worth every penny. It makes band practive so much better when I can clearly pick out each individual instrument and really listen in on everyones playing.
Comments about Hearos High Fidelity Ear Plugs:
These are great. They are very comfortable and it's great that they are washable too.
Great quality! Really cuts out the sound enough go its not damaging to your ears.
These were a great value!

Comments about Hearos High Fidelity Ear Plugs:
Well, I really, really needed to get some ear plugs that were better than what I had been using. I was always using just one instead of two, as I am a singing drummer and couldn't hear my vocals well enough with the plugs I was using. Well - I was very, very pleasantly surprised the first time I used these! You CAN hear lows and highs, while still having some ear protection. As a musician who has been playing most of my life (and I'm 58), I can say that my hearing isn't what it used to be (Zildjian cymbals, maybe...?) - and as a singer, I NEED to be able to hear my vocals while surrounded by those cymbals! These are the BEST ear plugs I have ever used, and I immediately recommended them to my band's members, and gave them a two thumbs up rating!
Comments about Hearos High Fidelity Ear Plugs:
We play extremely loud and this are truly like a volume knob. Unlike other ear plugs, these do not kill a specific frequency but literally are perfectly engineered to just 'turn it down'. Everything still comes through clearly, just at a lower level (much like the other reviews have said). I've used the same pair for a year now, easy to clean, so they last a long time.
Comments about Hearos High Fidelity Ear Plugs:
I used my new Hearos High Fidelity Ear Plugs this past weekend at a blues show and I was shocked at how poor they are. The are difficult to get deep into the ear and are really worth only about 1/3 the price. If I'd have read that these only reduce noise by 12db I wouldn't have bought them, so that's on me. A decibel reduction of at least 25 is the minimume you should seek. The Skull Screws on this site are rated at a 30db reduction, so I recommend those. I recently had my hearing tested at a clinic that nows their stuff. Trust me, if you're around a lot of loud music and you're in your 20's, if you only use these plugs, your hearing will be seriously diminished by the time you're 40. Better yet, most bigger hardware stores carry reuseable ear plugs at way lower prices. Don't mess with your hearing.
Comments about Hearos High Fidelity Ear Plugs:
I'm a drummer and have used these many times over the past year. They do work as described but I am not really sure how these are that much better than just plain ear plugs. I can notice that I hear some tones better over foam plugs but for the occasional user save your money for something you need more.
Comments about Hearos High Fidelity Ear Plugs:
Can you really put a price on your hearing? I got these as a gift but after using them I would definitely buy these again and again. These allow you to adjust how much you want the sound muffled. If you jam it into your ear all the way then it will act like a normal ear plug and take away a lot of the sound, but you can adjust it to your liking so you can hear everything going on but not kill your ears. I've been playing with them for a few years and I can't remember the last time my ears rang.
