OVERVIEW

Light, compact, and loaded with features.

The TravLite Series for violin or viola is a truly exciting stand that is as sturdy as they come. Two features that really set this stand apart are a tray for rosin and Hercules' Auto Grip System (AGS). The small removable tray keeps a cake of rosin or other small accessory close. The AGS uses the weight of the instrument to activate arms which secure the violin while on the stand. By simply lifting the instrument the arms release for easy removal. All contact points are wrapped in soft Specially Formulated Foam (SFF) for protection from scratches. The Hercules DS571BB Violin/Viola Stand is made of aluminum and features a sturdy tripod base. An extended arm has room for two bows and the stands folds easily into an included carrying bag.

Comments about Hercules Stands Travlite Violin/Viola Stand:

These are early days, but so far this stand has been a fantastic investment. I'd heard elsewhere that it was "too light" and "tips over". Well it's featherweight, so by itself it tips with a stiff breeze...but once your violin is mounted, the center of gravity is very low to the floor. I put my beater instrument in and tried every which way to get it to tip- no luck...it just scoots around (caveat-I haven't tested it on carpet yet). This stand works with high chinrests and shoulder rests attached. The famous neck grip design is handy- I can stow and retrieve the violin with one hand. I expect it's going make my gigging life much easier.

Comments about Hercules Stands Travlite Violin/Viola Stand:

This stand does exactly what I wanted. It quickly folds up and fits into its carrying case and quickly sets up again. It is very sturdy and easy to get the violin in and out. Just adjust the lenght so that the bottom of the violin rest on the padded legs.

Comments about Hercules Stands Travlite Violin/Viola Stand:

This very sturdy, light, non-tippy stand is perfect on stage for the multiinstrumentalist performing musician who needs to switch instruments between songs. The attachable rosin tray (or pick tray for mandolin players) comes in handy, as well as the tote sack. Durable materials with solid construction.

Comments about Hercules Stands Travlite Violin/Viola Stand:

I love this stand for my NS Design violin!! My husband has several Hercules stands and highly recommended that I try this one and he was right - it works great! Thanks so much for solving my problem of performing with a violin with no head stock, making it easy to put on and take off the stand, hold my bow, and doing it all at an extremely affordable price!!

Comments about Hercules Stands Travlite Violin/Viola Stand:

Picked this stand up for my wife (the violinist in the family). I own several of the Hercules guitar stands and love 'em. They are the most stable single instrument stand I've ever used. So far she likes the stand very well. Comes with a snap on tray to hold your rosin and is equipped with an adjustable bow holder as well. Neat little bag to store it in as well. If you're playing out in public, you won't go wrong with this stand.

Comments about Hercules Stands Travlite Violin/Viola Stand:

The locking mechanism is innovative, but mine stuck, so I had to prod it to release nicely. If the instrument doesn't have a shoulder rest to keep it off the back of the stand, it will touch metal. Less stable than the 2-footed designs.
