Comments about Lace Sensor Blue-Silver-Red 3-Pack S-S-S Pickup Set:
I'm a long time pro blues and R&B player. I've been using this pickup combination as original equipment on my original version James Burton Fender Telecaster since the early 1990's. I love these pickups and this is my dream guitar. It's hard to briefly describe the very wide variety of quality tones this pickup combination delivers. The Blue neck pickup delivers everything from a great imitation of a Gibson hollow body jazz or blues guitar to Duane Eddy twang, depending on tone control settings. The Red bridge pickup sounds like a hot Gibson Les Paul. Combining those two pickups delivers classic Fender Jaguar, Jazzmaster or Telecaster tones, or even BB King tones. The Silver middle pickup delivers excellent Stratocaster pickup selector "position 2" and "position 4" tones, when combined with the bridge or neck pickup. Recording engineers rave about how these pickups deliver great tones with zero noise. I couldn't ask for anything more.

Comments about Lace Sensor Blue-Silver-Red 3-Pack S-S-S Pickup Set:
Just put these in a '96 MIM Strat that the stock pups decided to retire on. Wasn't sure what to put in, I have Seymour Duncan YJM Fury in my main Strat and I checked out these Lace Sensors and was very impressed. Classic vintage Strat sound, clear, glassy and quacky when you want it to be, strong and aggressive when you need it to be. Very versatile set of pups allows you many tonal options with one axe. Awesome. Lace has a winner in the Red-Silver-Blue set.

Comments about Lace Sensor Blue-Silver-Red 3-Pack S-S-S Pickup Set:
These are a great sounding, quiet set. I installed them in a Squire deluxe strat.I prefer them to the Fender noiseless set I have in my 79' strat. The real gem is the red sensor in the bridge position. Silky smooth without a trace of the brittleness the Fender bridge PU has, even with treble set to '10'. They make a cheap guitar sound high end. You can't ask for more than that.

Comments about Lace Sensor Blue-Silver-Red 3-Pack S-S-S Pickup Set:
The Blue Silver Red pick-up set are very similar to the vintage gold set with a little more punch and tone range.
Both capture the 60's strat sound quite well
and it's quite easy to see why Clapton and Buddy Guy
used them.
Lace have been around a long time and have a great reputation for quality products and best of all they have easy to use wiring diagrams for their products which is another great bonus.
All in all very pleased as I now have both the gold set and the blue silver red which depending on what music I play at any given time make it extremely easy.

Comments about Lace Sensor Blue-Silver-Red 3-Pack S-S-S Pickup Set:
I have been playing Strats since I first started playing guitar. My first was an expensive Mexican Strat, then I graduated to American Strats...I now have 5. The only down side was for me was the noise....that 60 cycle hum on stage, but especally in the studio. A friend talked me into trying the Lace Sensor pickups (he uses the Hot Golds, but I went with the Blue/Silver and Red in the bridge). I installed them into my back up axe, and went off to my gig. Perhaps it was fate, but my main guitar simply stopped working in the middle of a gig. I grabbed my backup, plugged it into my Fender Deluxe Reverb amp...after one tune, I though I had died and gone to heaven. My first though was "they are quiet", but the tone from the Lace pickups floored me. The Blue for rythm smoked it, and the Red for leads and hard rock stuff was right on spot. I did not think I would get the in between quack, but it was there, loud and proud. I am a huge fan.
Comments about Lace Sensor Blue-Silver-Red 3-Pack S-S-S Pickup Set:
These pickups are absolutely awesome. I upgraded my 2009 American Standard strat with them from the standard Alnico 5 pickups.
Obviously, these are extremely well priced. They'd be an absolute steal even if they weren't amazing. But they -are- amazing.
These are -not- traditional Strat pickups. If you like the twangy or bluesy sound that's produced by every single pickup on your Strat, these are not for you. However, if you just like the Neck position pickup and are looking for a very diverse tonerange on noiseless pickups with very, very good sustainm, these are for you. If you are a huge Smashing Pumpkins fan like I am, this captures their clean and distorted tone (granted you have a Big Muff and a Tube Amp for their distorted tone) completely.
I am somewhat of a sloppy player. I used to not be able to mute strings while I played solos, or so I thought. With these, my solos that had loads of feedback are now completely quiet, and I can focus much more on my playing rather than muting strings. I was skeptical about buying these pickups at first, as I liked the tone on my Strat as it was. With these, I still have the neck position tone, as well as tones that aren't traditional Strat tones. I love it.
Blue - Softer than the rest. Sounds like an A2 50s neck pickup. I really liked the sound of the neck position stock pickup that came with my strat. It was by far my favorite. This pretty much captures that tone, but in a slightly less twangy way. It is still good in a traditional tone sort of way, and you can still hit the Hendrix sweet spot on the neck for solos and get an awesome neck position tone. When Chording, this pickup sounds a little less twangy than a Standard Strat pickup, and softer, with a slight amount of extra treble. It's really nice.
Silver - This pickup is harsher than I thought it would be. It's surprisingly driven, just like the Mid pickup on a Standard Strat. However, it is certainly less twangy, and obviously intended more for rock/alternative music as opposed to blues/country. It can still be used for that, but it's pretty far from the traditional sound.
Red - This pickup is awesome. I really disliked the normal Neck Pickup on my Strat, and this is an excellent replacement. If you like the edginess of a single coil sound but dislike the stock neck pickup, this is the pickup for you. It's supposed to emulate a Humbucker sound, but with the edginess of a Strat. It does this very well. I'm not a huge fan of a treble oriented Humbucker sound, but this pickup does it really well. Awesome sustain, screaming highs. This pickup really sings.
I can say that I agree with the other review and with these pickups, I now truly sound like Billy Corgan. However, I also sound like myself, and am able to define my own non-cookie cutter sound with this set. I'd recommend these to anyone looking for a different sound and versatile noiseless pickups. I'll always buy from Lace; these are awesome.
Comments about Lace Sensor Blue-Silver-Red 3-Pack S-S-S Pickup Set:
Went through some hard times. Had to sell my good axes. When I opened my Christmas guitar and saw "Squire," and not Fender, I was bummed, (to say the least). I plugged this thing in and was flabbergasted! I couldn't care LESS what the name on the tuner says, this thing ROCKS. It "JAZZES," it gets the BLUES in clear consistent tones WITH NO FEEDBACK (can't say that 'bout the Highway One, I got rid of). Throw these in your fiddle and you'll have 2 or 3 guitars less that you won't have to carry to your gigs.
Comments about Lace Sensor Blue-Silver-Red 3-Pack S-S-S Pickup Set:
These pickups are super versitale. But! I put these in my Strat and they are capable of reaching almost every tone imaginable. But, if all your looking for is a glassy blues tone and that's it, than go with the Hot gold ones. But these are good for playing anything. They even have a good blues tone (Almost as good as hot gold)I play reggae, alt, and many other types of music. They can make many tones. If all you do is play blues and you want some blues pickups get the Hot Gold, they're a one trick pony pretty much.
Comments about Lace Sensor Blue-Silver-Red 3-Pack S-S-S Pickup Set:
I am a HUGE Smashing Pumpkins fan, at first I just had silvers in my strat but they were weak. So when I found out that Billy Corgan used them, I HAD to get them in. So for Christmas I got the red and blue ones. They're GREAT!! The red pickup has great high gain features. The red and silver gives a good acoustic-type tone to it along with the blue and silver which also sound acoustic like. The blue is great for blue type sound and are great for solos switching back and forth from the red to the blue. I got a Big Muff and now I have to say I sound like Billy Corgan>
Comments about Lace Sensor Blue-Silver-Red 3-Pack S-S-S Pickup Set:
I like to put Strats together. It's almost an addiction. So, I bought this pickup set to get a different sound than my other Strats have. In hindsight, I wish I had used Hot Gold sensors or Fender SCN pickups. The Red-Silver-Blue sensors are dead-quiet, give you distinctive tonal differences in each position, and have a really nice touch response. The only problem I have with them is that they don't sound like Strat pickups. There's absolutely no chime, twang is virtually non-existent, sparkle is mostly absent, and you won't get much glass at all. If you don't particularly care for the classic Strat sound, or if you've already got a good Strat, this pickup set will give you something different to play with, and that's why I still have them. They aren't "bad" pups by any stretch, they just won't get you a traditional Strat sound. One more thing worth mentioning. The Blue sensor does have a bit of PAF tone to it, and the Red sensor is pretty hot, but don't expect over-the-top output. My EMG pickups are WAY, WAY stronger.
