This Lace set includes Sensor Emerald, Sensor Reverse-Wound Silver, and Sensor Purple electric guitar pickups.
The Sensor Emerald: Lace has built these world famous patented pickups since 1985. Used exclusively by Fender until 1996, these pickups have the same specifications with the same great tone. Emerald Lace Sensor pickups have that Texas-inspired tone without the noise! he Lace Sensor Emerald is a pickup with everything you want to play with the snap and bite of great southern rock sound.
The Sensor Silver: Silver Lace Sensor pickups are designed to duplicate an early Fender single coil pickup. With its reverse-winding, the Lace Sensor Silver pickup does even more to keep any hum at bay.
The Sensor Purple: Purple Lace Sensor pickups have hot overwound single coil tone, between a Burgundy and Blue Sensor. The Lace Sensor Purple pickup is designed for the bridge or a P-90-type tone in the neck.
Crisp top end and bell-like tone, the Lace Sensor Purple utilizes the latest technology to provide excellent tone for today's players.
The Lace Sensor Purple guitar pickup has a unique radiant Field Barrier system that surrounds both the coil and magnets, reducing annoying 60-cycle hum. The patented Lace Micro Combs replace traditional bobbins, yielding a wider tonal range and better string balance than traditional guitar pickups.
Unlike ordinary pickups, it generates 36 separate magnetic "sensing" fields that, in the areas where they contact the string, "read" the strings' vibration. (Regular pickups only generate anywhere from 4 to 12 fields).
The Lace Sensor also has Radiant Field Barriers: metal slides that frame the inner core of the Sensors and perform two functions. The first is to shield the Sensor from the outside noise and 60-cycle hum. The second is to produce broader, yet more concentrated, umbrellas of sensing field than standard magnetic pickups.
Less Noise, More Harmonics
As compared to standard pickups, it reads a greater physical area of the string, while picking up less outside interference. This makes the signal-to-noise ratio nothing short of phenomenal for a single coil system. Also, a wider range of harmonic content is read by the Sensor, delivering a more complex tonal response.
Increased Sustain, Truer Pitch
Since it operates so efficiently, Lace Sensors can use much lower energy magnets than ordinary guitar pickups, and this in turn brings about a whole new realm of properties. In regular pickups, the magnetic fields are so strong they physically dampen, or drag on, the strings' vibration, reducing sustain and actually changing the pitch. But in the Lace Sensor, string dampening is virtually nonexistent. This means your sustain is increased dramatically while the string holds its true pitch for the duration of the note.
Lace includes a three-inch mini data CD that includes all its latest wiring diagrams in color along with Lace's most current pickup and guitar catalogs. Also includes a warranty card and other useful information regarding Lace Music Products.

I had a love-hate relationship with the stock pickups that came with my American Standard Strat. I loved the vintage tone, especially with the switch in the 2 or 4 position, but hated the under-powered sound when attempting to play hard rock with heavy distortion. I'm mainly a humbucker guy, and I was tempted to upgrade to some type of stacked humbucker, but I really didn't want to give up the distinctive sound you get by combining the reverse wound mid pickup with the neck or bridge. I wanted the best of both worlds.
After doing lots of research, I felt I could get what I wanted with these pickups. I was right. The great tone of the 2 and 4 position is still there, 60 cycle hum is practically non-existent, and I get a more powerful output from all my pickups. I can now crank up the distortion on my strat and get a great powerful sound out of these pickups.
Installation was easy - only 4 solder joints had to be de-soldered then re-soldered.
This pickup set yields a great bundle of tones. The neck pickup is awesome for Stevie Ray Vaughan and Blues tones, the middle pickup is great for Richie Blackmore or David Gilmour sounds, and the bridge pickup can handle hard rock / light heavy metal - Aerosmith, Judas Priest, Kiss - but not quite Metallica.
I agree with the other reviewers - these pickups greatly improve the versatility of a Strat.

Amazing pickups. The product description is accurate and says it all - no need to repeat it here (read it above...). There is nothing negative I can say about these pickups. Lot's of harmonics that come out loud and clear - very surprising for single coil. Overall, these pickups make my Fender American Std strat. more flexible by having better and richer sound than with the original Fender pickups. I play classic rock in two cover bands and this is a perfect set of pickups for what I play.

Like so many other people on this forum I had a MIM Srat that was great and fun to play, but the pickups were dull and lifeless. I installed the Lace pickups (pickguard with a Silve-rmiddle, Emerald-neck and Purple-bridge) and my jaw dropped. TONE-TONE-TONE. It was the blues tone I had always wanted. One very important thing I would suggest that if you have a Mexican built Srat like me, is that you get the pots swapped over to American Standard-- including both the tone and volume pots. If you want to go one step further, try a TBX pot in the bridge.

After I did this I discovered a whole new range of tones with the volume or tone rolled off. Furthermore, my guitar is set up so that the tone pot that controls the middle pickup also controls the bridge pickup which means I can create awesome sounds from the bridge pickup on its own and the middle and bridge pickup together. Don't get me wrong. These pickups also rock hard...not just for blues. My guitar is much more versatile, and I feel like I have so many more sonic options.
These pickups woke my MIM Stra up!!!
They look and feel well built.
Way better tone....well worth the money!
