I'm normally pretty picky about my strings. I've played many types and gauges over the years and I know what I like. For the price of these I figured they were worth a shot, just to see what the fuss was all about. Musicians Gear strings come in a glossy box with a single clear plastic package inside holding all of the strings. Four wound, two unwound strings in great color and shape. While they don't sound like an expensive string, they do sound bright and balanced. In my experience, all of the Musicians Gear strings last about a month of solid playing and then the tone deteriorates fairly quickly. It's a sharp decline. You'll know when they're dead because you won't enjoy playing on them anymore. But for a few dollars it's really not an issue. If you enjoy them, just buy another pack every month. A solid value. Not the best strings, but in my opinion better than GHS and Ernie Ball.

I have bought many many sets of these. I build guitars. I have been glad to have them, but lately, its like they have all gone bad. They not only sound bad but the 3rd string breaks instantly when tensioning and detensioning strings, and I have run into such intonation/tuning stability problems that it had me running in circles. On one guitar in particular it was tough, and I put on a set of Martin Marquis, and the guitar behaved perfectly. SO, they work for me to check nut height and action for set up, but cant deliver a guitar with the batch I have anymore, and cant play guitar in tune w them. I never entirely believed it before, but can now attest that strings can intone wrong from uneven stretching. Sorry, love musicians friend and use their cases on 2 of my models, love to buy stuff here, but these strings have gone bad on the shelf of my workshop and are unuseable.

Comments about Musician's Gear Acoustic 12 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings:
I have used these for years, since they were the Musicians Friends brand...as a matter of fact this brand are all I have used for Bass, Electric and Acoustic guitars since I found them. And after using about 10 of these "re branded" sets I can say the quality has stayed the same.
They are absolutely fine, on par with any other string out there. After all this time I have had only 3 sets that were "dead" or went "dead" quickly. Other than that they last as long as any brand out there, including the popular Mail Order ones.
At this price I can pick up 20 or 30 sets at a time and change them out when ever I want to and still have $$ to eat after the gig. Strumming or Fingerstyle, the work well & sound great on my 1995 Seagull Folk, record cleanly, and have a long shelf life. It is SO nice to have 3 or 4 packs in the case, and not worrying about how much I spent on them!
The audience only cares if you sound good, not how much you spent on your strings. For us, these allow us to take more of the gig money home with us, so what is not to like about that?!

These work just fine, they don't break while tuning, they don't break period. They sound just fine. I don't feel guilty to put on a new set at random.
I keep buying these again and again, packaging is plastic sealed each string separate in a thick cardboard box. It says "Crafted in China from the finest U.S. steel" sounds good to me.

Comments about Musician's Gear Acoustic 12 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings:
They sound great and they play as good as many other expensive brand name strings.
I wish I could get a better price on them for buying them in 12 lot sets or more as this is how I'll purchase them from now on.
Give them a try you will be very surpirsed at best on most acoustic guitars.
I've got them on my Hummingbird right now and it is awesome sounding. :)
