I can recommend this, but only with the caveat that the buyer understands what he or she is getting for the price. In this and previous tweed case I ordered from MF, the latches don't line up properly, tweed fabric has scuff marks and glue stains. The second case was even worse than the first and had numerous splits/gaps in the interior plush fabric. Reading other reviews, I didn't expect two bad cases in a row. Between insurance & shipping, not worth returning as there's no guarantee a replacement will be any better than what I have. Fits dreadnoughts but not auditorium/jumbo (which most old archtops are.) Upper bout can be no wider than 12.5", lower no wider than 16" (and those are snug.) Buyer beware.

Comments about Musician's Gear Deluxe Dreadnought Case:

I have the black and the tweed model and, I must say these are really nice cases. The black is totally flat and the tweed has an arch top over the body of the instrument. I tried every one of my acoustic guitars and, the fit perfectly even my Epi 12 string fits and this guitar is longer than most. The tweed case has red lining which really looks sharp. I just wanted to try one of each for my instruments and, I can't say a bad thing about either one. If you're wanting to upgrade from a gig bag this is well worth the money for the protection and looks that you will recieve. I recommend either of these to anyone looking for Great case at a decent price.

A Great Case

By Michael-pDO4.

from Austin, TX

Comments about Musician's Gear Deluxe Dreadnought Case:

I've been playing guitar for over 50 years. I just bought this case for a recently purchased Martin DM. Got the tweed version. It's everything I expect from a case and the tweed just looks classy. Someone else here said they'd varnished theirs, so I did the same to mine and that REALLY enhanced an already great, vintage look. My Martin DM fits great. Finish on the case is perfect and there are no alignment problems with the top or the latches. No wrinkles anywhere on the cover and the hardware is sound. Although I wouldn't check the case as baggage on an airplane, it's definitely strong enough for everyday use. I weigh 175 lbs. and tested the top by standing on it. Carefully, of course, but it supported my full weight with no indication that it would give way.Buy it. You won't be sorry you did.

Comments about Musician's Gear Deluxe Dreadnought Case:

The tweed look is excellent and is well made. I bought it for my Taylor 810 and the fit is perfect. I was so impressed, in fact, that I put my Taylor 614 in to see if it fit, and it does, with no loose spots at all. So I ordered another for the 614.
As other reviews have stated, this isn't the kind of case you toss to the baggage handler at the airport-but that said, it is more than sturdy enough for gigging and doing basic travel. The storage is no different than my Gibson or Martin cases. Strings, picks, tuner, strap and all fit easily.
The case certainly appears sturdy. The locks are fine and the interior is attractive and reasonably plush. You could certainly give the case a good whack and not hurt the guitar. Not that I tried that, but you could.
For the money, forget it. (I have the tweed model, which is slightly more expensive) Money well spent.

Comments about Musician's Gear Deluxe Dreadnought Case:

Does what it is designed to do--provide basic protection. Cost/benefit ratio is outstanding. Latches don't always line up when closing case. This is a very minor issue that only becomes a little aggravating when you are in a hurry. Yes, I would recommend this to a friend. As a matter of fact I took my own advice and bought a second one.

Not the sturdiest construction, but a good value for the price. I got it on sale for less than a gig bag and am happy with it. Latches don't line up perfectly without a little help, stitching a little off. Fits a Gretsch 5120.

Comments about Musician's Gear Deluxe Dreadnought Case:

      Amazing deal
ONE word...AMAZING very very very good case I have a full size Dreadnought and I was scared it would not fit but it fit perfect like it was made for it...and for that price I could not let it up. I would recomend this product to anyone who asked where I got it from because it is just perfect...I have the black on black case and the black is not a very dark black but its still black.

All you have to do is look at how many reviews there are and, that should tell you what you're looking at. Both models Black and Tweed are Great cases for not a lot of money. I own both and, I'm very pleased with them. Not a whole lot more needs to be said.

Comments about Musician's Gear Deluxe Dreadnought Case:

My child is taking guitar lessons. We had been carrying the guitar back and forth from lessons in the box it came in. It was cumbersome and not easy to carry, so I decided to purchase a case. Musician's Friend was highly recommended by the music instructor. We were not disappointed with this case. It is well made, easy to care and protects the guitar nicely. It also has storage space where the guitar tuner and capo are kept, which we honestly had no idea what to expect having never purchased a case before. We are very pleased with this item.

It's a good case for the price. I just like to protect my investments. My Alvarez AG75CE fits just right. Not flushed but good enough for the protection it needs. I'm not a traveler player, so if you are consent on the go and making money on gigs. Then a better case is what you may need. Besides that, It's good.

Comments about Musician's Gear Deluxe Dreadnought Case:

This is pretty much the standard hard case of traditional construction. I have several others for different sizes and styles of guitar and am happy with all of them. I haven't put mine through rough treatment like checking them on airlines. I also have molded Gator cases and think they might be more resistant to knocking around, but this is a good solid case. Any standard guitar case is easy to break into and easier to just pick up and walk off with, so don't think the little lock provides security. It's more to prevent it from coming open accidentally. This is a great looking case, adequately sturdy, has a nice pocket for picks, slides and such, and has that old time traditional look that I like. You can't beat it for the price, especially if you catch it on sale as I did! And my cats love the box and paper it came in!

I bought this case for my D45 Martin, because I wanted to keep it in a tweed case. I love it. The case is sturdy and fell off the roof of my car and rolled down the hill. There was no damage to the guitar, and I cleaned the case up with soap and water. looks great. I recommend this case.

Seems like a well built case. Not going to provide the same protection that a molded plastic SKB or similar case would, but the wood construction and tweed outer appears extremely durable. I bought to house/ transport a Yamaha Dreadnought style guitar and it is a slightly tight fit, but appears to close well without issues and doesn't put undue stress on the neck when closed. Overall I am extremely pleased with the case especially for the price. Nowhere else comes close in price for a similar product.

At this price I expected a flimsy, tossed together hard case. It was purchased as a gift for a relatives dreadnaught acoustic. I about fell over when I found a well made case that is sturdy and comparable to cases at three times this price. The tweed is done really well and looks classy. The plush is thick and well fitted. The case lock actually WORKS and you get two keys. The Ibanez dreadnaught fits perfectly with no slop at the bout or body length. These cases at these prices are crazy good bargains. I can't imagine why anyone would buy a gig bag for a guitar when a good hard case can be had at this price. So, quit searching the over-priced online auction with outrageous shipping costs and buy this case from MF.

Great Case, looks wonderful, sturdy and solid. The latches don't line up perfectly but it does the job.
Great price offsets that though. More satisfied then not.

Very bad workmanship. Latches were bent and cut into case.

I purchased this case for an Alvarez dreadnought sized guitar: AD66.
This case is a good fit for Alvarez dreadnought size guitars.

Comments about Musician's Gear Deluxe Dreadnought Case:
