2x the mic stand at half the price you can't go wrong!
Ok, I have left a review before whan I first got these, for an update, i have had them a little over a year, I use them every week for myself and a background singer, they are broken down and transported after each use and I have not found any problems as of yet that would make me not purchase them again, matter of fact I am getting 2 overheads in a couple of weeks.
I do find that the more they are used the more you have to tighten the boom connection to the verticle support, they just twist loose.
As for the fixed boom for those that don't know, there are tlescopic booms that colapse into themselves, these simply are adjustable from the mount as to how far they stick out on both ends of the upright pole, the telescopic is only adjustable on the mic end and isn't slid through a vise type of mount.
There you have it.
Not the best quality for profesional stage setups, but does the job very well.
I would rather lose or break one of these for the price than spend $100 on one and do the same.
If you are on a budget but are worried about it tipping over, go to the dollar store and get some ankle weights, Easy fix.
2 for $30 value is all it is.

I have four of them that I use in my studio and for gigs. I've had them for a little over three years. For the most part they've held up pretty well for a low budget boom stand. You have to treat them with kid gloves, though. They will break easily. My biggest problem with them is the the threaded end where you connect the mic clip can become loose from the boom and just spins inside the tube. The way I fixed this problem is I welded the threaded end to the tube. These stand work great if you are in a pinch. Just be ready to fix them if you take them on the road with you.

Comments about Musician's Gear Tripod Mic Stand with Fixed Boom (2-Pack):

My band bought these because they were inexpensive and we were going to use them in the studio for rehearsal. They worked fine for the first few months that we used them in the studio but after that the screws stopped holding things as securely as they used to and then they just began to fail. Now we keep them around as spare parts for our performance stands.

        Are these proffesional quality? No.
Did I expect them to be? No.
They do their job, and will hold a mic. The screws have to be tightened down quite well to keep the boom from sagging when the boom is slid forward most of the way, but other than that they seem stable. I'm using an amateur home studio set up and needed some simple mic stands. These were cheap and did the job.

Does the job but very light built. If you are very careful with them they may serve you well. I wouldn't trust them to a roadie. Worth the LOW price just be gentle!

i see why it comes in a set of two. there were multiple issues with both. i had to disassemble and use the parts to make one functional boom. i would have sent it back, but it would have cost more in shipping than it is worth. very low opinion of this item. VERY low.

Comments about Musician's Gear Tripod Mic Stand with Fixed Boom (2-Pack):

I am amazed at the quality of these stands for the price. Usually stands at this price tend to not be stable and will not hold your mic in the same position for long. These stands work as well out of the box as premium stands. However, I cannot say if they will hold up over time. I assume they'll will hold up fine if you are super careful with them and don't use them a lot while traveling to road gigs. But I've only had them a week. So far, so good. Hope this is helpful.

Comments about Musician's Gear Tripod Mic Stand with Fixed Boom (2-Pack):

If used carefully these stands will do well in a home studio setting for lighter microphones. If using with a heavy mic you'll need to balance it carefully or use additional weights at the base. Because the boom has no counter weights it's maybe good that the boom doesn't extend very far, as the stand would be unstable. This stand is not strong enough for rough handling or over-tightening the clamps. I'd use them on gigs only in a pinch. Remember: "One generally receives that for which one pays."
