I got this strap as a Christmas gift and have been using it the last 3 months. I like it quite a lot, especially the soft padding on the shoulder. I can play for 3-4 hours and not have the soreness that I used to get with a standard strap. I've seen comments about this being slippery but I have not found that to be the case. It stays in place for me and the material is stretchy so even when the guitar does want to move the strap stretches rather than moves, and then pulls back to where it was. My only ding on it is that it seems a little short. Guys who like to play the bass low - like below belt level - should not buy this strap. But I would buy it again and would recommend it to others.

The strap is made with very high quality materials and the neoprene pad offers an impressive relief from the bass weight. However, beware, the Super Bass Strap is super short, even when stretched at full length (33"-42"). Might be practical for those who prefer to play with their instrument at chest level or players of low stature (would not recommend to persons around 6 ft tall). This is not very obvious until you actually try the strap on. Neotech also offers longer versions as the Mega Bass strap (43"-53") and the Mega Ax strap (48"-58") which I think would be more practical.

Comments about Neotech Super Bass Strap:

As a bassist who playing five and six-strings while also having a disability as well as had major back surgery, the quality of my strap is something I shop around for as much as my basses. The Neotech is high-quality, wide over your shoulder where you need it and thiner where you don't, made from quality materials all around, and a great product. This is a great strap for much less of a price than other neoprene-based straps cost. In this case, cost doesn't equal quality - it exceeds it.

best strap ever!

By Wannaplaybass

Comments about Neotech Super Bass Strap:

The picture of this strap must be an older on, the style is a bit different, instead of a triangle piece of leather on top, it is a narrower piece about 3 inches long. And I was afraid it would have a balloon logo on it, and it does not the logo is embossed on the longer leather piece. This strap is awesome in looks, functionality, and quality. Very heavy leather, so heavy it took me a few minutes to put over my lower strap button. Don't see the need for strap locks, I'm just leaving this on all the time, to much time taking on and off. I love it. Very strong, makes bass feel lighter, and is very comfortable. Don't wait, get one.

Absolutely Perfect!

By Frank on Bass

Comments about Neotech Super Bass Strap:

I didnt even think about my bass on my shoulder! I was using a Sadowsky Neostrap which was really comfortable but not worth the price. When I noticed the design was basically this strap, I bought one and for half the price of Sadowsky's...it was awesome! Does not pull on your clothing and it is super affordable. Get this strap.

Don't Buy This Strap

Comments about Neotech Super Bass Strap:

I play my basses up high yet this strap is still uncomfortable. The wider portion is not long enough to cover your back (unless your a smaller guy). The price is good so I kept it for practicing at home. NO WAY would I use it onstage.

Could be longer...

Comments about Neotech Super Bass Strap:

Does it make your instrument feel half the weight, sure does, but with a catch... The construction and quality of this strap is very good. The padded section is very comfortable, but not long enough. The wide, padded section of the strap is too short. Because of this the thin part of the strap which is not padded ends up digging in my back, not very comfortable. If the wide padded section were another 6" or so, this would be a great strap.

Slick, won't stay!

Comments about Neotech Super Bass Strap:

After reading all these good reviews, I bought this strap and ended up totally disappointed. The flimsy neoprene slides around and I have to basically hold the neck in position, otherwise my bass will hit the ground! Don't buy this product!

Comments about Neotech Super Bass Strap:

I bought this for my light, short-scale bass, so can't comment on weight concerns. However, the strap is very comfortable. I'm surprised it's billed as a bass strap; I have it at its longest "setting", which is 42 inches hole to hole. MEASURE BEFORE BUYING. I wear mine quite high, and it just barely works for me, and I'm 5'4"! Because the padding starts right near the end, it lands well on my shoulder. I just don't see how this would work for anyone much taller than myself. You might want to consider neotech's super ax strap, instead, bearing in mind that the pad starts further from the end on that model. BTW, I ended up removing the pin to install the strap b/c I could NOT push the slit onto it at one of the ends.

Comments about Neotech Super Bass Strap:

I've been wanting a new strap for a very long time and I finally went ahead and bought this after feeling sore and stiff from a few very long practice sessions. This strap is amazing! Incredibly comfortable and solid. The width and padding have entirely eliminated all the issues I've had with neck and shoulder stiffness.

I have a couple of vintage Harmony Parlor-sized guitars. This strap is the perfect size to hold the guitar at the height I like. Really comfortable and no problem with the strap twisting when you put the strap over your arm and head.

Not a bad strap at all, however way too short. I am 5'8 and this at its longest length I had my bass at my chest - deal breaker for me. Sent it back and ordered the mega bass strap. Good if you like your bass up high, otherwise don't bother.

This is not my first Neo strap. I really like to stretchy comfort of my old one. Makes the guitar feel lighter.

However, beware! The Super Bass strap is too short for a regular bass guitar. I could hardly get my head through it when I put it on! Had to order the Mega Bass strap, which cost more! Ughh!

Comments about Neotech Super Bass Strap:

I play double-neck instruments so the elasticity allows me to gain comfortable playing access to both necks. The padded portion is very comfortable: not too wide and not too narrow. However, it may be somewhat short for musicians who like to wear your instument very low or those who are extrememly tall. (I'm 6 feet and wear my instrument in a pretty normal position: it's fine for me.) But this is not unusual for any strap that has a separate padded portion. Construction is first rate. The ends are very heavy leather. It may be a bit difficult to get them over your strap button, but then, it's equally difficult for the strap to come off... a very good thing indeed when you're grooving and moving around! The thick ends may make it incompatable with some strap locks, but you don't need them with this strap. The stiching that holds all the pieces together is also first rate and all indications are that this strap will stay together through many gigs. I've seen similar straps sell for much more. In fact, if you get this strap with a Fender logo, you will poney up about twice the bucks. The look of the strap is certainly understated and clean. It will fit any setting from a head-bangers ball to a wedding gig. This strap is easily adjustable and there are no metal parts to add "character" to your instrumet. Very highly recommended!

Comments about Neotech Super Bass Strap:

I play some HEAVY BASSES Peavey t-40 15+pounds Fender Jazz, Epiphone Les paul all 10+ pound Basases. and this strap makes them all comfortable to play. I have some nice leather straps and they are not too bad but none as comfortable as this. If you like your bass down around your knees this is not the strap for you. It is not long enough for the Cool look but more than long enough for it to function.

                  Thoughts on The Bass Strap

                  By Danny Letz

                  from Texas

Comments about Neotech Super Bass Strap:

I found the strap to be nice in appearance. It was also nicely padded. I found it to be a little short. It held the guitar up too high on me, although no higher than I"ve seen some pros wear theirs. I actually bought two of these straps and the one I gave my grandson for Christmas fit him very well. The first strap and second straps I chose were backordered, but I needed one strap for Christmas and it worked out OK.

I use two of these on different basses, and I've never had any issues. I never have a sore shoulder after my 3+ hour cover gigs, so I can't complain. I also use a Comfort Strapp, but the leather ends on these Neotech straps are thicker and seem more durable. And these straps are CHEAPER!!! I recommend.

I play a several different basses including Alembics which are heavy as you know what. Have tried the Comfort Strapp, Brooklyn Gear Perfect Strap, various Levy and other padded leathers. Neotech is the best. Very comfortable strap and surprisingly less expensive than some of the competition.
