After looking at several products, I purchased this one. Besides being less money than most, it was also adjustable. Piano benches just aren't the right height for me and neither are the stool type saddle seats. I spend many hours at my keys and this seat is comfortable as well. I thought the circle seat would be too small but I was wrong. Perhaps the company could make a different style seat as an upgrade, though this one is adequate. Excellent value. Also, I travel weekly to rehearsal and take this seat apart into its four components (base, backrest, shaft and seat) for ease of carry. Quick takedown and setup. I mark the hole with black permanent marker to make it easier. Regarding using pedals with this throne, I use a sustain pedals (one as a trigger) two volume pedals, a floorbased vocals effects box and a 2-way footswitch for drum machine. I also keep the seat very close to the keyboard. I have no trouble placing and accessing all the floor based switches while on this throne. Rock on.

The stand is good, but the seat/backrest are not comfortable, so I swapped out the seat and backrest from my Ludwig drum throne and positioned the seat back and now it's great. The Ludwig drum throne's aren't cheap, but it's leather and better padding, so overall it works great and looks good on stage. They need one more grade up for this and it would be great.

Comments about On-Stage Stands Adjustable Throne:

This stool is very nice for bassists. If you have trouble with posture, this is the stool for you. The stool tends to force you to sit up and near the edge just like most Double Bass teachers like their students to do. The major problem I had was noise. I work in a lot of pits and this stool was simply unacceptable. Whenever I made the slightest of movements the support column let out a extremely annoying squeak. I have tried everything to reduce this sound but nothing worked. I have even take the stool apart, cut off parts I didn't need, and personally welded everything back together. Noise is still there. Sadly, my stool was "borrowed" by a "friend" and returned in pieces about six months ago. However, I am planning on buying three to five new ones for my section in my Chamber Orchestra. Looks great, feels great, just don't move(:

Comments about On-Stage Stands Adjustable Throne:

The product shipped and arrived quickly. It was easy to put together. It is very sturdy and good quality. Would like to have the footrest to be adjustable. The seat is adjustable however. The is a good performance chair for acoustic and classical guitarists. It would also be a good stool for double bassists.

    Everybody wants my chair

    By Big Jim Allen

    from Tampa Bay Area

Comments about On-Stage Stands Adjustable Throne:

I bought this chair in Spring, 2005. I am a BIG guy...6'4" and burly. This chair holds me just fine for my guitar playing, especially as my solo act includes several pedal boards left and right. Great value, a comfortable chair, and sturdy enough for a "man-sized" guitar player

Comments about On-Stage Stands Adjustable Throne:

Works like an adjustable throne should. Very sturdy construction and stable. The footrest would seem misplaced and useless if you're going to sit with the height adjustment at the lowest setting. I had originally purchased this throne with that expectation, using it to sit at a desk, working with a DAW, and still having a decent player seat for recording. But the footrest quickly shows its usefulness as you raise the seat just a few notches. This provides more of a live show feel and is still extremely comfortable. If the footrest were adjustable--so that it could be moved to a more comfortable position with the seat fully lowered--I would give it five stars. Taller players may not find it as much of a nuisance as shorter players, though.

Comments about On-Stage Stands Adjustable Throne:

Foot rest is poorly placed up high. Needs to be adjustable and that wouldn't take much engineering to do so. Base could be more stable by added 2 inches to floor cross bars.

      Nice Chair

Comments about On-Stage Stands Adjustable Throne:

I had one of these that I gave to my friend because he liked it so much. I bought one of the Pro-Line Ergonomics to replace it (for twice the price) and it is not nearly as comfortable as this one. I'm sending that one back and getting another one of these. These are great chairs and I don't think you'll find a better one for the price.

      comfy

      By Ten Ton Brick

      from Canton, CT

Comments about On-Stage Stands Adjustable Throne:

I love this thing cause it's so comfy. I play two keyboards and when i'm chillin during a breakdown, and i am not playing, it is the best to not only have the footrests, but it can be high enough to look over my second keyboard. I recommend it to guitarists everywhere and to people who have recording studios.

Comments about On-Stage Stands Adjustable Throne:

I have a Grundorf chair of similar design that always makes my legs numb after sitting longer than 30 minutes. It has a small seat and not much padding.

The OnStage adjustable throne is much more comfortable and very sturdy. There is more padding and it is a wider seat. I can use it without going numb. I have moved the Grundorf to my Church for playing in the worship group and I now use this chair for my personal performances and in home practice.
