This stool is very nice for bassists. If you have trouble with posture, this is the stool for you. The stool tends to force you to sit up and near the edge just like most Double Bass teachers like their students to do. The major problem I had was noise. I work in a lot of pits and this stool was simply unacceptable. Whenever I made the slightest of movements the support column let out a extremely annoying squeak. I have tried everything to reduce this sound but nothing worked. I have even take the stool apart, cut off parts I didn't need, and personally welded everything back together. Noise is still there. Sadly, my stool was "borrowed" by a "friend" and returned in pieces about six months ago. However, I am planning on buying three to five new ones for my section in my Chamber Orchestra. Looks great, feels great, just don't move(:

The good: There's a backrest, adjustable in and out. The seat can be raised or lowered. The not-so-good: Footrest is welded into place. We bought three of these thrones at one time, and we've discovered that the footrest is either too high or too low. The seat becomes *very* uncomfortable after less than an hour. Lastly, be careful getting in or out, tends to be a bit tippy. Would not recommend, nor buy another.

Comments about On-Stage Stands Adjustable Throne:
After looking at several products, I purchased this one. Besides being less money than most, it was also adjustable. Piano benches just aren't the right height for me and neither are the stool type saddle seats. I spend many hours at my keys and this seat is comfortable as well. I thought the circle seat would be too small but I was wrong. Perhaps the company could make a different style seat as an upgrade, though this one is adequate. Excellent value. Also, I travel weekly to rehearsal and take this seat apart into its four components (base, backrest, shaft and seat) for ease of carry. Quick takedown and setup. I mark the hole with black permanent marker to make it easier. Regarding using pedals with this throne, I use a sustain pedals (one as a trigger) two volume pedals, a floorbased vocals effects box and a 2-way footswitch for drum machine. I also keep the seat very close to the keyboard. I have no trouble placing and accessing all the floor based switches while on this throne. Rock on.

Comments about On-Stage Stands Adjustable Throne:
The product shipped and arrived quickly. It was easy to put together. It is very sturdy and good quality. Would like to have the footrest to be adjustable. The seat is adjustable however. The is a good performance chair for acoustic and classical guitarists. It would also be a good stool for double bassists.

Comments about On-Stage Stands Adjustable Throne:
I also own a Roc 'n' Soc which is better for drums because of the swivel. With my back problems, the support that the Adjustable Throne provides for keyboard playing, etc. is good -- better than a padded stool. It's a good value for the money. The foot supports are not funcional however.
Pros
- Portable
Cons
- Foot Rest Placement
Best Uses
Comments about On-Stage Stands Adjustable Throne:
Foot rest is poorly placed up high. Needs to be adjustable and that wouldn't take much engineering to do so. Base could be more stable by added 2 inches to floor cross bars.

Cons
- Fabric split right away
Best Uses
Comments about On-Stage Stands Adjustable Throne:
plastic fabric split on second day. afraid of what it may look like if I take it on the road. foot rest should be flat. round bar is a killer on right foot if pedals are used with left foot. may be fine for keyboard player but not for acoustic player.

Comments about On-Stage Stands Adjustable Throne:
I bought this seat over a year ago. After back surgery, standing for a 3 to 4 hour gig was next to impossible. This throne makes doing the gig much easier. It is well made and adjustable to heights that don't make you look like a dwarf amoung the rest of the band.
Comments about On-Stage Stands Adjustable Throne:
The only thing I do not like about the throne is that the seat does not swivel. Other than that it's prefect. It's sturdy, functionable, comfortable and affordable. If you ever add a swivel seat version please let me know. I will certianly buy one.
Comments about On-Stage Stands Adjustable Throne:
It seems to built well & has a very nice seat.
The stool is very comfortable, however I chopped the footstep off and moved it down. In my opinion it should have an adjustable footrest.
