I need low profile stands for performance. Ipads need to be low and out of the face and I use Mackie and TC personal monitors at times that need to be lifted a placed but out of the way. The low profile stands work best for these purposes and for reducing stage clutter. This stand is very sturdy and adjusts all thru the ranges needed for any of my non microphone - stand needs. Its just a lot heavier than it looks. The cheap 20$ stand here is half the weight! Oddly, few of these stands have a weight in the descriptions. That is very good information to have along with height without extensions and fully extended height. Some kinda cover that but with to much detail on how far the one piece extends. I think any musician needs to know how low does it go, how high does it go?? Kinda simple.....
And since gear does not walk itself into a gig, how much does it weigh and maybe what the dimensions are all folded up for transport.....
That's what I needed to know.
I am keeping this stand, but had I had better detail in the descriptions, I would have bought the cheap stand or the lighter weight expensive one.... Still happy overall.....

Quality is about what you would expect given the price. Fairly stable if you don't plan to put it through a great deal of abuse. At the same time I bought this one, I also bought the model with the telescoping boom...not a good idea. The mechanism that "locks" in the telescoping portion doesn't hold tight enough, and your mic will rotate on its own. This model however serves its purpose much better.

Stable stands that are reasonably priced. These are great to mic amps and drum kits. They also work for vocal mics when sitting.

Great stand that is just the right height. Not too big, not too small. Quality, durable stand. I find that I never have enough of these.

Comments about On-Stage Drum / Amp Tripod Mic Stand with Boom:

This is versatile. I use it to mic up snare bottom when snare top has mic clip, if not, I use two, one for snare top, one for snare bottom. I use another for hi hat, another for kick drum port hole, and another to mic up the bass rig 4x10, and also for mic on guitar amp.
can't go wrong with this sturdy short mic stand

Well made and sturdy, especially for this price point. A versatile boom stand for micing instruments and amp cabs. I don't know if I need two, but one is definitely good to have.
