I own a recording studio in Nebraska and we have tried a few stands. I decided to standardize on K&M stands about 6 months ago, but they are pricy and we were unable to outfit the entire studio. I saw these and noticed some odd similarities. I purchased these on an amazing sale and I feel like I should send Musicians Friend some money. They are IDENTICAL to the K&M stands we were buying, but they did not even cost me half of what the others cost. These stands are heavy duty enough to hold our large heavy condenser microphones over a drum kit for 2 days without sagging. The 2 piece boom is slick and everything is just SOLID. I don't just recommend this product I highly recommend replacing all your flimsy tripod stands or awkward heavy base stands with these guys.

No, since it doesn't perform better than a cheaper model

It's certainly heavy, but the parts don't work appreciably better than the light weight cheaper mic stands that I have.

A robust stand that does its job for a great price. Only downside is the length of the boom arm, which is a minor inconvenience.

Love this stand! I would give it 5 stars but it hasn't stood the test of time and/or gigs yet. But I'm willing to bet it won't let me down.

Comments about On-Stage Stands Heavy-Duty Euro Boom Mic Stand:

Wow what a heavyweight!! All metal stand with no plastic parts- weighs almost 10 pounds and only partially folds but is still transportable. Like a tank- holds any dynamic mic no problem. My condenser mic with metal shock mount made the boom sink slowly when it was extended beyond 24 inches, but I fixed it by adding a piece of leather in between the rubber gasket and the frame of the boom joint- now it tightens up just fine and does not slip hardly at all- I think the rubber gasket is too shiny and slick to create enough friction when holding the heavy condenser mic- Will not tip over either, even with a heavy tube condenser!! I like the large size as well, this stand will put a mic 8 feet in the air so I get up over the Drums and mic Symbols easy. I also can Mic a 1x12 combo amp on the floor........this is a very versatile stand!!

Comments about On-Stage Stands Heavy-Duty Euro Boom Mic Stand:

Just got it a few days ago. Much more heavy duty than my previous stand. Hoping the plastic knob is attached firmly to the metal underneath, this is an area for potential future issues. Otherwise, it appears to be the best stand I've owned.

Comments about On-Stage Stands Heavy-Duty Euro Boom Mic Stand:

I host 16 weeks of performances every summer at an outside gazebo in South Carolina. I invite four artist to play each week. It rains, it's hot, and it's humid. I take abuse on my PA, my instruments, mikes, and stands. So far, my cheaper ones have held in there, but I wanted something serious. This mike stand is what I was looking for. At about twice the weight of my other stands, every part of it is engineered well. I have seen no flaws and it's been doing what it's supposed to each week. I will keep buying this brand.

Comments about On-Stage Stands Heavy-Duty Euro Boom Mic Stand:

DRUMMERS! I have tried every mic setup known to man for my totally blind drummer - wireless headsets, overhead booms, etc. Finally I found a mic stand and method that really works for him. The wireless headset mics each brought different problems - bad fit, bad sound, can't control volume physically. The overhead booms were bulky, hard to set up, obstructed his drumming. We got this little gem of a mic stand, and problem solved. We set it up to the left of the high hat, straight and level to his face with the mic bent about 60 degrees (Taylor Hawkins of the Foo Fighters uses this setup). He turns slightly to the left to sing. The mic and stand are not in the way, it is very stable, it adjusts to exactly where he wants it, and the integrated counterweight prevents tipping. I have never been a fan of tripod bases, but this one is very sturdy and well-built. Love it!
