The day that they arrived I was testing some microphones and needed two stands right away. I assembled the first one and put the mic on it. I started assembling the second one and the bracket that mounts the boom to the base broke right off. This was bizarre as it broke quicker than a kid?s present on Christmas Day. The bracket is made of a cheap cast metal and probably had a lot of impurities. Actually, I am glad it broke so quickly, because I would have hated to have it come crashing down with a good mic on it. I was going to just leave all the other stands boxed up until I needed them, but then I took each one out, assembled them, and thoroughly checked them out before I might have to be depending on them. All the rest seemed to be okay and should be sufficient for my use. I can see where the threading on the bracket would strip out if a person wasn?t careful setting them up due to the inferior metal used. I plan on leaving them assembled in the bag until I need them. This should prevent them from stripping out.The bag is very nice and sturdy and will hold all the stands assembled and folded and actually has room for some cords and other stuff. There are grab handles and a shoulder strap that can be unclipped.The price was right for what I got, but definitely not worth the MSRP. I would highly recommend setting them all up and checking them out just like I did. That way, there are no future surprises. I am ordering a boom of a different brand to replace the broken one since the base is still good. I have also purchased some 2.5 pound ankle weights to weigh down the legs as the bases are quite light and they may be susceptible to tipping as the boom is extended.I don?t think that I would trust an expensive mic on one of these.

We bought these for our church a couple of years ago. Everyone but one have broken. Its not like we trashed them either. They just didn't hold up. Most of the bases just stripped from the boom, so that they don't thread in anymore. If your desperate for a lot of stands for cheap then this is an option, but if you can hold out and spend a little more a more expensive stand should last longer than these.

Good package of inexpensive mic stands and a nice bag to boot. Mic stands are often victims of abuse, so therefore, no need to spend a lot for nice stuff that's gonna get trashed by musicians that didn't put the money out for them. If they get wiped out, so what? The bags are much more durable than the stands.

A friend had loaned me an older set of On-stage stands - the precursor to this package. What a difference! These stands are heftier than the older stands. The microphone "nuts" which hold the microphone clip to the stand are bigger and better than the older ones. The cable clips seem to be a lot sturdier (time will tell). These are an excellent buy for the money. No - they are the best stands - but at the price they charged for them - you'd be a fool to complain.

3 years. That is what I got out of this pack of stands. I ordered this package 3 years ago this spring, and they lasted me that long. Running over 100 bands each year at my venue, on top of regional touring. Hell, I even packed them into the included bag (which is a nice feature). I got 3 years out of the stands. When one broke, I would keep it aside to use as parts for when the others broke. For this kind of money, if you are a professional musician, these are the last things you should be complaining about not lasting. Very few things do I use for all the shows we have, that will last me 3 years for this little amount of money. For the money, this is a no brainer. Treat them well, and they will last. Toss them around, they will break. Simple as that. Respect your equipment, and it should last just fine.

I bought these for my restaurant/music venue. We have multiple bands each weekend who don't treat our house equipment all that well, so I shy away from buying real high quality stuff becasue they will find a way to break it. I came across this pack over the holidays at a great price and jumped on it. I was very surprised at the great quality of these stands when they arrived. They were strong and have the good quality rubber washers on that are not wearing out quickly. The metal on these is strong and the construction is good. Far exceded my expectations.

I like the telescopic boom. I don't like the way the handles on the boom are made so cheaply. For the price though you are getting a good deal. If you are on a budget and looking for some great mic stands, you need to purchase these.
