Comments about Pearl LR-40 Leg Rest for Snare Drum:

If you are using a j-bar or other system that floats the drum, this is not for you, as the drum does not touch your body, but for snares with tradition al straps (like my school drumline) we use these and they are amazing. In about 5 minutes you forget that its even there, as the cushion does not rub, chaff, or hurt your leg in any way. They are a life-saver for stands. I canot tell you how may times I have had knee pains and have been fatigued by the weight of the snare hitting my leg. Also, since the rest elevates the snare about 4-5 inches away from you, you aren't stuck trying to keep your elbows in so you're not playing in 2 different zones. Over all, it's a chops saver and it allows for proper technique.
