Comments about Acoustic Bone Nut Blank:

I purchased to install on a flamenco guitar, but is too short to fit. Musicians Friend was nice to give a refund.

Comments about Proline Acoustic Bone Nut Blank:

This item is a raw supply. How well it works is dependent upon how well you shape it to fit your guitar. The product is what it claims to be, its all straight forward and honest. Better tone than plastic.

Takes a while, but I'm happy with the result on electric.

Comments about Proline Acoustic Bone Nut Blank:

It takes a while to shape, but bone nuts are the only nuts I have been really happy with. I used this nut on an electric guitar. Not sure why it says acoustic. You can sand it to any size and shape you require. I used a TUSQ nut as a template for the slots. It does take a while to match the radius of your fret board to the string slots and get each string the correct height. I replaced an Earvana Nut, as I have had issues with the High "E" string sinking into the nut and then buzzing, with a TUSQ nut. I had issues with the TUSQ nut. The high "E" string was not crisp, it was sort of muted. I have had many high end guitars with bone nuts and never had an issue and they sound great. It's a shame they don't sell pre-shaped bone, but I guess they would have to stock a lot of sizes. The TUSQ nut was much easier to install as the slots were cut, just sand to shape, but I was not happy with it.

Comments about Proline Acoustic Bone Nut Blank:

Making a nut from scratch is tricky. Read up on it and watch youtube videos before starting. Be aware that some of the videos are not very good....so find ones that seem technically oriented. It's not for the novice repair guy.

This was exactly what i was looking for. No gnarly chipping or flaking when I carved it down.

Comments about Proline Acoustic Bone Nut Blank:

I like that it is big enough to work with for many aplications.
There is enough meat to make fit anything I have. You shape to fit.
                looks good .
Not a lot of money to save a guitar.
