There is no reason to buy any other nut for a gibson les paul replacement. For the price and quality this is by far the best.

I replaced the plastic nut on my LP Jr with this graphite nut and am happy I did. The stock nut was binding the strings at times and causing some tuning problems. This graphite nut has resolved that issue.
The slots don't need to be filed, they seem to fit very well with my strings (lite: .009 gauge). Removing the old nut took a little work but here are some very helpful YouTube vids out there that show how to remove it. I did have to sand the graphite nut down a bit to get it to fit into the slot. This is a good thing as it is now very tight and requires no glue to hold it in place.

I used these on all my Epi LesPauls they have the same string width
