Comments about Protec MAX Tenor Trombone Case:

I was thinking about buying a gig-bag type case because I wanted a small and lightweight case but was concerned about the safety of my trombone in one of those.

I was originally looking for a small case but I don't mind that It is a full sized case. It is so light that it makes up for the size.

This case is very sturdy. It seems very well made...no complaints.

My King 3B with F attachment fits nicely. My Urbie Green also fits well. The velcro straps keep the slide and bell sections securely in place.

I can fit my trombone stand in the side pocket but I think that in time the wear and tear might cause some problems, but I will give it a try for a while.

There is an small pocket on the outside, good for business cards or thin light things.

There are two compartments inside that have more than enough space for essentials.

I was surprised to find that it has built-in shoulder straps that hide conveniently behind a flap with velcro which keeps them neatly hidden when not in use. The handle on the top is also a surprise. Neither of these features are listed on the product specs.

This is a very good product. I got more than I was expecting and I am very happy with it.

Very lightweight, but protects the instrument. Excellent storage, but would like to see them add an end strap for carrying convenience.

I purchased this case for my husband since he was now duct taping his old case. It is much lighter than his old one and has features like the pouch for his music stand that his old one didn't have. He is very happy with it.

Comments about Protec MAX Tenor Trombone Case:

I purchased this case about 3 months ago (April, 2014) to replace my horn's original case which was very heavy and beginning to fall apart. My two biggest concerns with a replacement case were weight (lightness)and protection (high). This case meets these criteria for me. This case is lighter with my horn in it (1974 Yamaha YSL-643 Large-Bore F-Attachment) than my old case is empty, plus it has backpack straps which make it all that much easier to carry while freeing up my hand for other equipment. This light weight does not come at the expense of protection. I love my old horn and would not put it at risk unneccassarily. This case has exceeded my expectations in regard to the level of protection provided.
Since the case does not have a dedicated mouthpiece area, I purchased a Protec mouthpiece pouch which I place in one of the two accessory storage areas. This solve the problem very well for me while protecting my mouthpiece.
My one wish for this case is for it to have a handle on the end (I grew used to the one on my old case). I will probably take the case to a seamtresss friend of mine to see if see can make a handle out part of the shoulder strap (which I do not use) that came with the case. Aside from this end handle issue, I could not be more pleased with this case and do not hesitate to recommend it.
