I was looking for a simple, strong and attractive stand I could use in my home studio, and this one is perfect. The legs are adjustable through seven positions, and they lock in each position, so you don't have to worry about them slipping under the weight of your gear. The adjustable width is really nice too. Each of the four legs has a height-adjustable foot, which is perfect for rooms and stages with unlevel flooring. The stand also ships with two self-adhesive pads that attach to the top, where you place your keyboard. This prevents the bottom of the keyboard from scratching the stand, and vice versa.
The finish is satin black and looks great. I have vintage analog and modern keyboard synths, and they all look really nice on the stand.
If you're a gigging musician, this is a strong and durable stand, and though it's not especially light, it can be unscrewed and folded down into one easy-to-carry assembly.
My only gripe is that two of the retaining screws that secure the legs were slightly bent upon arrival. I'm not sure if it happened in shipping or at the factory. They still work but require extra force to screw them in. If I were a gigging musician I'd have returned the stand for a replacement, but since I'm using this at home, it's not a big deal. Still, I'm taking one star off for the bent screws. Incidentally, I've also had great service at Musicians Friend, and I know I could have returned the stand for a replacement without hassles.
