I guess QC missed mine as it came off the line(china? u.s.?) go to the store, open the box- make sure it holds your kboards in some stable and level form before you buy. i should post a picture of mine- it's really pretty funny:) albeit really annoying:/

had a problem with the top tier arm knobs. called M/F customer service and obtained contact number for manufacturer. Called and spoke with Scott - he directed me to the right stand and identified the knobs I had a problem with and sent them out to me the same day!
That is fantastic customer service!

an 8 out of ten is very good!
the knobs for tightening the top tier are weak and mine broke after the second tear down. I replaced them but these could use some re-tooling.

Compared to other stands, this Quik-Lok is the ONLY one I can use for seated practice. Its minimum height is 23", while all the other ones are 26" or even 28+"(!), which is too high for me when playing seated. It makes a BIG difference because a high stand can put your wrists at an uncomfortable angle to play with. The last thing you want is to be playing for hours at a bad playing angle.I'm surprised that the other manufacturers haven't noticed this. It's as if they've never tested the stands for use while playing sitting. Or maybe they used high chairs. For any prospective stand you are considering purchasing, I would try testing the playing angle sitting in your own chair. Take the the height of the stand, add the extra inches that your keyboard will add, then see how your hands feel angled at that height. You may want to check the manufacturer's web site to get the measurements of each individual height setting for accurate estimation. For seated practice, this one feature makes this model the only viable keyboard stand for me.

Very solid and sturdy stand. The top tier is very adjustable (height, width, how far forward) so you can get it right where you want it. Easy to set up and folds quickly. I am very pleased with this stand.

I recently purchased the Quik Lok Heavy Duty Two Tier Keyboard Stand. First of all, Heavy Duty barely describes it. This stand is easily the strongest most stable "X" style keyboard stand I've ever seen. For those who are tired of not having TRUE flexibility in their second tier, this one solves that problem. Finally a stand where you can raise or, more importantly to me, lower the second tier to a height where YOU want it, not where the manufacturer thinks it should be. Also you can adjust the 2nd tier to bring the keyboard closer or push it farther away, your choice. Most "X" stands allow you to angle your second tier but the Ultimate stand I used before this does not. THIS stand allows you to angle the second tier to a comfortable position for YOUR use.There are a couple of drawbacks. Straight out of the box, several of the plastic tighteners were not finished well with sharp points sticking out making it difficult to tighten. I had to get a small file and knock these off myself to keep from getting cut. In addition this stand is not easy to set up and tear down. I'm hopeful that it will get easier with time but it is bulky and much heavier than most stands available.That having been said, this is definitely the sturdiest, strongest keyboard stand I've owned in 30 years of performance and offers the most flexibility in a second tier of any stand I've found on the market. Though bulky, it is exceptionally stable and flexible.If you're a serious working keyboard player who wants your boards to sit still where YOU want them to sit, this stand is for you.
