Comments about Replacement Cases Alto Saxophone Case:

I have been searching for a new/used case for older (pre 1963 vintage) saxes.... these older horns are slightly larger than those made today... you can't make the case bigger; before you buy know the depth, length and width of your horn and the interior size of box you need. Other wise I always recommend a hard case for saxes and this appears to be an ok case

      MTS No.1213V Alto Saxophone Case

      By Rita Trumble

Comments about Replacement Cases Alto Saxophone Case:

Other than not having a contoured space for the neck or mouthpiece, it's a decent case for the money!
This case does not have a contoured space for the neck or mouthpiece.
      Overall quaility is ok.
At a decent price if you need a case right away, this is an inexpensive case.

      Could Cause Damage

Comments about Replacement Cases Alto Saxophone Case:

I purchased this case to replace my son's soft case used in marching band. The biggest problem with this case is that the foam padding on the lid does not have a "cut out" for the bell or palm keys that stick up once you lay the sax in it's designated position in the base of the case. Therefore, the lid's foam pad that fills up the lid presses down on the side of the saxophone, putting a lot of unwanted pressure on the bell, palm keys, and the key arm/mechanism on the side of the saxophone as the lid is closed. Closing the lid is a challenge as it is really tight! As a result keys get bent out of place and the bell could get damaged with rough handling of the case by people who load and off load the band trucks. I had to rip out that foam pad in the lid, cut it down and re glue it back in place so that it would not cause damage to the saxophone. I would not recommend this case.

Comments about Replacement Cases Alto Saxophone Case:

If you transport your horn daily and are rough with it, this case may prove too flimsy over time.

If you just need a light case to store the instrument and carry it around here and there "gently", the case is great for the money.

Sidewalls are hard but thin. Buckles are fine. Hinges underside looked a bit sharp but there are rubber feet, so if you place down on hard surface you're fine. If you plan on snagging things (or just throwing in the back seat of your leather car, etc.), I worry fearing scratching potential.

        Handle is cheap but functional.

Conclusion: You get what you pay for, but it holds the instrument nicely. As others mentioned, the neck and accessories flop around loose, so invest in some bubble wrap to cushion. I'm very satisfied for my needs.

        Shipping was fast.

Returned not usable. Horn did not fit. The outer shell seemed sturdy and a good price.
