The molded case has a non-scratch, thicker pile, plush-lined interior and padded neck brace with 2 accessory compartments—one covered and one open. To give extra protection to your special instrument, the exterior is a hardened, roadworthy shell.

If you are looking for a case that is the next step up from a bag or foam case, this case fits the bill, It certainly offers thorough enough protection for most gigging situations.
I was looking for a case that would fit a Fender Kingman acoustic-electric bass. The overall length of this case accomodates this bass guitar. The light grey plush lining is a positive. The case is basically a molded plastic and has a little give, . The case is very light weight. For the price, I believe this case is a bargain.
With the experience I have had with various cases, it is questionable if it would be able to hold up to any unusual maltreatment. The hardware is not heavy duty, and I probably wouldn't trust it to protect my bass guitar on a commercial airline flight.
For the price being under $100 I believe I got a bargain.

The top gives with a light push offering minimal protection. If the latches last more than a week I would be surprised. The interior smelled toxic and had very little or no padding that was lined with what looked like mangy dog fur. Made in China. This was returned to MF.

The top gives with a light push offering minimal protection. If the latches last more than a week I would be surprised. The interior smelled toxic and had very little or no padding that was lined with what looked like mangy dog fur. Made in China. This was returned to MF.

If you have an Acoustic (Electric) Bass, stop looking and buy this case. I have a Washburn A-10 and it fit like it was made for it. The lid on the storage compartment is only attached with the lining, so it's a little flimsy and cheap feeling. But when the lid on the inside storage compartment is your only issue with a guitar case, BUY IT.

seems like a reasonably sturdy case...but...in spite of what the mf rep said a dean eab will NOT fit in this case...so back it goes...i know that dean makes a case for the eab...but its a bit more expensive & its...brown...shouldnt cases always be black?...lol!

This is an excellent case for the money. If you need a solid case for basic transport from time to time, this is for you. If you're a touring, working musician, you're not going to want this case simply because the latches aren't on par with Gator or SKB cases. If you use these day in and day out, I'm guessing they wouldn't hold up well. But for the rest of us, who use a case for storage or occasional transport, this case can't be beat. It's a super sturdy case that should fill my needs for years to come. I have a Samick Greg Bennet AB-2 that's a tad too small for the case, but I just tuck my cleaning towel along the bottom and it doesn't shift around. It's definitely a "one size fits all" for acoustic basses, so it's going to be a bit large for some models, but this should fit about every brand out there.

Excellent mid-level case. I needed a case for my Fender Kingman bass and was having trouble finding one that would accomadate its length and most importantly protect my bass. MF customer service told me this one will work. After receiving the case I was very impressed with how it was made and the Kingman fit perfectly. I think it will hold up well under most situations with my personal handling. If you are looking for a case that is roadie or airline worthy you'll need to money-up for an Anvil or other industrial type case. But for everyday use and local gigging it will work well.

I recently bought a kingman bass. Then could not find a hard case for it without backordering for months. Saw this one on MF and read the review that said it would fit, so ordered it. So glad I did. Fits nicely and protects the bass much better than the gig bag I had it in. Also has a good size storage compartment.

My Fender CB-100 CE fits good in it. Had just a little play but easily taken care of with a small hand towel. I feel the latch on the hinge side is a bonus.
