This case has 6 latches which make it take a bit time consuming to close and open. These latches have to be fastidiously aligned before fastening, they won't just align and snap shut casually. The accessory compartment is small unlike the Roadrunner Stratocaster/Telecaster case I bought which has a second compartment for a strap and long enough (21 foot) cable. This case has me carrying my guitar cable in my hand or rolled up and set inside of my amplifier. A Gibson Les Paul Junior fits into this case width-wise but does flop forward if you walk and shakeor tilt the case while the guitar is inside of it, unlike my 1999 Epiphone SG case which fits like a glove. Still, of all the cases I tried- this is the best quality and it wont tear like tolex. Should last a long time because of the materials used and contoured dimensions of the math skills that went into developing it.

I don't think it will hold up to much use and the pain of having to aline the top at each closing is just to inconvenient.
6 latches - one locking with two keys, 3 hinges, plastic handle. Nice covered storage compartment. Nicely padded inside. Wedge insert *on top to hold down the body of the guitar when lid closed. Metal feet for standing on edge with handle up, plastic feet for back down, no feet for upright on end but does have plastic molded edges for strength. Would probably be slipperly if on a hard surface.

WARNING: The wedge insert broke the toggle switch on my HAMER the first time I closed the case. Partly my fault as the case is for an LP so the toggle is not in the same place but the body is about the same so I thought I'd be alright.

FIX: Too late for me, but I found that using the butt end of a screw driver on the styrofoam wedge insert will allow you to push in enough clearance room for the toggle switch to be in any position if it's located down by the pots like my HAMER. A lot easier than replacing the toggle switch I'm sure.
NOTE: I'm not rating the quality with any consideration given to the problem I had.

The case itself is very nice and deserves much better hardware and attention to installation of the hardware. All hardware is of a very poor quality and the installation is even worse. The hinges are not evenly installed, nor are the latches. It's a case and you shouldn't have to fight with it to close each time. Because everything is poorly installed, the top does not line up with the channel and the latches pop as they snap to come into position. I don't think the hardware will last. The handle brackets are very poorly constructed.
Mine was a Stupid Deal purchase (which I love by the way - MF is the absolute BEST!). I would not recommend purchasing at the regular price at all. I can only give it a mid rating even at the stupid deal price do to the hardware and assembly issues.

Great case for Gibson Les Paul Special

    By FuzzyWuzzy

Comments about Road Runner RRMELP ABS Molded Single Cutaway Guitar Case:

For the price I paid (MF Deal of the Day) and the fit for my application (Gibson LP Special), I'm very very satisfied.
Fits Gibson LP Special "almost" perfectly. The upper and lower bout fit very well but there's a little gap at the mid bout. Nothing that bothers me much though because the guitar still sits fairly tightly in the case. The accessories pocket is nice with a hinged door. The neck fits nicely in two places: 1) at the neck/body joint, 2) at the neck/headstock joint. The weight is therefore balanced and not putting excessive force at the neck/headstock joint like some cases, which can snap the neck at the headstock. Bottom-line, case is a very good fit for my guitar.
Quality is very good with an aluminum binding running the entire length of the top and bottom halves of the opened edges, that seal together when closed. There are 5 latches and 2 hinges on the version that I own. The handle is comfortable and balances well when carried. The ABS is slightly flimsy, being less rigid than a wooden case, but more than adequate protection for my needs. Also, no stink like some cheap cases.
I purchased from MF for Deal of the Day, so the price was excellent!!! Normal price, I would rate maybe as a 7 or 8.

Depends on what you need in a hard case

Comments about Road Runner RRMELP ABS Molded Single Cutaway Guitar Case:

Not as well design as my rectangular Strat type case by Road Runner. This is a good sturdy case. IMHO it is best used for home storage of a Les Paul type guitar. As a case for a giging musician it falls short in 2 main areas
(1)The extremely small interior storage compartment is one of my major complaints. The storage compartment will only hold a small clip on tuner and thin strap without strap locks or the tuner and a spare set of strings. Not all 3. Want to use it to carry a heavy leather strap forget it. Expecting to be able to store anything more than a thin 6 foot cable? Nope that doesn't fit either.
The usable area of the storage compartment is approximately 7" x 3.75" x 1.25, rendering it pretty much useless for a working musician or anyone wanting to store and transport anything other than your guitar in the case.
    (2) The other area of complaint is the extremely tight interior. As previously noted in other reviews, plan on manually compressing some of the padding to get you standard sized Gibson or Epiphone LP to fit. The interior padding is so thick under the back of the guitar that the neck does not touch any of the under neck support area. The strings do however make a nice solid imprint in the top of the neck area. Actually a SG style guitar (and possibly the thinner body guitars like the Epiphone LP Special II) fit much better than the typical thick body LP.

I was hoping for a good sturdy scuff resistant case to haul my LP around in. Unfortunately for my needs as a gigging part time musician this case falls short. It is a good at home storage case, but not a good transport to gig case. If you dont want to carry anything other than your guitar in your case, you are willing to do a little manual compression of the interior and you can purchase it at the stupid deal price, the case is a good buy. Other wise Id look at something else.
Hard ABS plastic exterior, 6 latches (one with standard mini-key), comfortable handle, balances well, good (maybe too much) interior padding. Pretty much your standard ABS guitar case features.
See exception and reason for lower score in OVERALL below.
Well made case sturdy case. Hinges seem well made, upper and lower portions of the case line up properly. Nice soft furry interior. I'm not crazy about the latches that require you to carefully align the protruding latch tang into the lower part of the latch in order for it to latch. But once closed the case seems to be secure.
At full street price, I wouldn't give this case a second look. At the "stupid deal" price it is a good buy for a storage case.

For the price I paid and the quality I'm extremely happy I got this case.
It has all the features a case can have I guess. Locks and a handle.
Seems like an extremely strong case but still light weight and gives my les Paul a snug fit so no bouncing around.
I got mine on sale so it was an amazing value. Even at the regular price I would still recommend this case.

    ABS LP Guitar Case

Comments about Road Runner RRMELP ABS Molded Single Cutaway Guitar Case:

Very happy and so is my Epi LP
Good quality but tight fit, as Epi LP only fits without stap which requires strap to be taken off and put back on each time. Get some good strap locks also.
    Very good quality build
What more could you want from Deal of the Day

    Awesome!

Comments about Road Runner RRMELP ABS Molded Single Cutaway Guitar Case:

Like I have already stated, it is a well built full featured case that more than does the job. I gig out every week and after when you are packing up you sometimes are not "gentle" when you pack up. I know that this case will keep my baby safe from harm.
Hardshell exterior, plush interior and 6 latches to keep your baby from falling out.
Solid and well built. It's tougher than a wood case but a lot lighter. I don't have a roadie so your's truely has to lug all of his stuff around. Heavy is not always better.
Less expensive than a Gibson case and it does the job. If you need the logo, put a sticker on it.

Comments about Road Runner RRMELP ABS Molded Single Cutaway Guitar Case:

Fits my Les Paul Jr. like a glove. I have purchased non manufacturer cases in the past and was very disappointed, so I was a bit worried, but this one seems to be made decently and should protect my guitar well. I took a chance and it seems to have worked out.

    Molded Guitar case

    By Ted Shistle

    from Deland, FL

Comments about Road Runner RRMELP ABS Molded Single Cutaway Guitar Case:

Fair for the price. Definately has the 'cheaper' feel both in weight and in quality. The latches do not line up very well. Other than that, it should work just fine for holding a medium priced guitar. Make sure you inderstand the 'style' of guitar case. It will ONLY fit a Les Paul style.

    A keeper.
Very nice case for the money- light, sturdy, inside soft as a baby kitten! Fits my Gibson Les Paul Jr. perfectly-snug & supportive w/room at the headstock. Looks like it would accommodate an arched LP as well.
