Comments about ROC-N-SOC NRX Nitro Drum Throne:

I usually have 3-4 keyboards playing out using volume pedals. This chair is high enough to go back and forth in standing while playing live. Also, allows for confortable 'angled' seating to play and use volume pedals (for those that play the way I need to will understand). The quality is always good from roc and soc. Actually, my last chair lasted 12 years before hydralics went on it..

Great throne for you taller players

Comments about ROC-N-SOC NRX Nitro Drum Throne:

Be aware that this IS A TALL throne! Its lowest setting is near the tallest setting for a standard throne. So before you get this guy shipped to you, do a little measuring! I am in between 6' and 6' 1'' and I am sitting close to the shortest setting on this throne.
Really dug the comfortable seat and quickly adjustable piston. This seat lets you bounce a little while playing which helps you find the groove and look cool doing it.
This throne will set you back quite a few bucks, but you're getting a heck of a throne.

    Best throne, period.

    By Tony?

Comments about ROC-N-SOC NRX Nitro Drum Throne:

I have owned this throne for 5+ years now and can't imagine living without it! I've played countless shows on the road with it and it has held up to the rigors of travel. I use it when I play drums, keyboards, etc. etc... It gets a lot of use in my studio. The bottom line is if you want to play in comfort, get this. If you want a bad back and hemorrhoids, buy a different throne. This sucker was built to last!!!!

Comments about ROC-N-SOC NRX Nitro Drum Throne:

I've been playing drums for 20 years and have never had a hydraulic throne. When I bought the nrx, nitro rider, I bought it because I needed a new throne and well, after 20 years, I decided to buy a good one, you know, to maybe help with the stamina of playing a four hour gig. The thing bounces while you play! As I kick the bass and high hat, the nrx go's with me. Way less fatigue.
      I love my new throne!!

Comments about ROC-N-SOC NRX Nitro Drum Throne:

I have been playing for 15 years and my back has been hurting for those same 15 years. I've had numerous thrones but after a couple of hours of playing, I was hurting. No more. This throne is heaven in chrome and black. The wide seat provides solid support and it's velour finish keeps me there. No sliding around when when I get kickin'. I purchased the optional back rest and highly recommend it to any serious player. It makes me sit up straighter and allows better access to the toms. My plyaing has actually improved and my back is very happy. The gas shock gives just a little bounce that helps eliminate fatigue. All in all; a wonderful investment and my best Christmas present ever.

      Not very adjustable but comfortable.

Comments about ROC-N-SOC NRX Nitro Drum Throne:

I recently bought this product as a replacement for my old very basic throne. Seems really comfortable, and supports you very well. Unfortunately it's really tall. From what I see there is only one way to adjust it, and that is sliding the center post down, and I put that all the way down, and its still quite tall. Fortunately I am a relatively tall guy (6'1'' ish) so its not too big of a deal for me, but unless there is some other way to adjust it(which is quite possible - I bought mine from scratch 'n' dent here, and it didn't come with any instructions) it would be a serious problem for shorter drummers. That said its quite comfortable and supports me better than my old round drum throne. The way the seat part attaches to the post is kind of odd, but not a problem or anything, I was just confused a little at first. Overall it seems good, works for me just fine.

I should have bought one of these ten years ago! Just got it and used it on two gigs this weekend. I've been playing for forty years, this is the best, most comfortable throne I've ever sat my butt on!

Comments about ROC-N-SOC NRX Nitro Drum Throne:

Firstly, I do not play drums...I play bass and was looking for a portable, substantial stool that would allow an older musician with a battle-worn back to sit high, provide back support, have a large seat, swivel, take up little stage area and be comfortable for long periods. I have used this stool several times and it has been incredible! The infinite adjustment of the piston provides any height I need. I've tried various stools, and, even another top of the line drum stool. But, I could never get all the functions I wanted in one stool. The height is just great...I mean, this stool will let your feet dangle if you so desire and not feel like you are sitting below the other members. The piston is rock solid with zero wobble even at its extreme height. If it's all about the money, you need look elsewhere...if it's about comfort, function and well built construction then this is the stool for bassists and guitarists who just want to sit or need to sit because of back issues. Probably works great for drummers, too.

Comments about ROC-N-SOC NRX Nitro Drum Throne:

I have lumbar stenosis. Bought this throne because of the seat's shape, padding, and height. It allows me to practice/play several hours longer than other thrones have. Easy to set up, even though no instructions are included. Be aware the NRX is for tall people. Roc N Soc does make a standard Nitro throne for height challanged people.
